1570.0. "CoolMax shirt and pinholes" by THOM::LANGLOIS (STG Data Networks) Mon Jun 04 1990 17:57

I have one of the DIGITAL CoolMax jerseys some of us bought last year.
It's the only CoolMax jersey I own and I love it but I'm finding a
problem in that whenever I pin my race numbers to it they tend to make
little holes due to the tugging and pulling of the wind. Will these
continue to open up? Is there any way to avoid this? Thanks.

No, they won't continue to open up -- and no, there doesn't appear to
be any way of avoiding this. However, the comfort CoolMAX offers on
days like Saturday and Sunday this weekend more than makes up for the
    pinholes!

The same thing happened with my X-Bio (Descente) jersey.

So my answer is, "Don't do that!"

At Mitchell, I pinned the number to the top of the rear pockets
(hence only along the top of the number-tag).

RE: .2. You don't always have a choice as to where you pin your number
which is the problem. I did the Tour de Lowell and it went on your
right side on your rib cage. I did a biathlon yesterday and it had to
go in front on your stomach.
RE: .1. Yup, it's amazing how much nicer CoolMax is on hot days as
    compared to a T-shirt. The biathlon I did was a 5K run and a 15 mile
bike. I wore the DIGITAL shirt for both events and it made a
nice difference. Of course, the winners were on their second beer by
the time I got back BUT I was COOL! :^)

CoolMax also seems to pill, and lacks a great deal of abrasion
resistance. But given the alternatives, I use it whenever things
warm up. (It helps, of course, that my dad works for Dupont --
they make the stuff, and every once in a while, he gets ahold of
a freebie with the CoolMax logo on it.
