1525.0. "WORKING MAN'S Stage Race" by UJEST::POST () Thu May 03 1990 13:01

I thought I might add this note here after I got some definate dates
    so here it is.

The race is called the WORKING MAN'S Stage Race. Its a three day
event that takes place after work. The date's are from July 24 -
26 the races all start at 6:00 pm. Two of the races are in Plaistow
NH and the last race is in Lee NH. This will be the second year
of its existance and last years race was a GREAT time there were
no complaints and all the racers said they would do it again next
year (there were 200 of us with only two weeks advance notice!!)
The format of the race goes like this:

July 24 TT held in Plaistow NH the race starts at 6:00 pm. Its
a 9.5 mile course and I described it before as having some
rough terrain BUT I rode the course Tuesday and its re-paved!

July 25 Circut race held in Plaistow NH the race starts at 6:00
Its about a 6-7 mile loop on a good surface the terrain
is rolling with an uphill finish. The distances for each
race will be announced at a latter date.

July 26 Points race held in Lee NH at the LEE SPEEDWAY this race
also starts at 6:00. This race MAKES this race great. If
you never have done a points race you'll have a great time
learning here and if you've done them before you'll know
what a blast they can be with banked turns and no hills.

The entry fee is going to be $30 for all three races and $10 for
each individual race. You can't be included in the GC if you don't
    do all three races.
The catagories will be Citizen A, Citizen B, CAT |V, CAT |||, and
depending on what some sponsers say and time constraints we will
try to get CAT ||'s and CAT |'s. The top Sponser this year will
hopefully be MILLER LITE (there new comercials should explain why
they would sponser this kinda race!)

    WHAT DO YA THINK!

Good idea. In my case you can call the race "Family Mans Race". I don't have
time on the week ends to do all I'd like to do. Send me an application.

Could you put the Rte. # so I can take a look at the course, do you
need to be a member of the USCF ??? hopefully not, it sounds like a
good chance to see what bike racing truly feels like.....

I agree with the last two, sounds like a great event! Wish it were in
MA, though. Maybe this is a good event to resurrect the Team Digital
    idea ?

Tom standard entry form will do. As far as the address you would
be better off calling CYCLE CITY in Plaistow NH # 382-1820. I just
called the shop and the application for the USCF lic.# should be
    in the mail next week.

You will not have to be a USCF member to race this race as far as
I know. Last year they had two divisions for Citizen's A & B class.

Plaistow is about as close to MA as any NH town wants to be!!!
    (right above Haverhill).

As far as routes go its alot of good backroads with some travel
on RT 108. If your interested in riding the routes the TT is held
on the first Tuesday of each month and the Circut race will be held
tonite and every other Thursday. The points race will fall in between
the Thursday's the were not doing the Circut race. The start date
for this race isn't secured yet due to insurence reasons but should
be cleared up before the end of the month.
