1502.0. "A bike novelty, my newest" by CLYPPR::FISHER (Dictionary is not.) Wed Apr 18 1990 19:24

    My group gave me my newest bike for my birthday, today. (b-day's
    tomorrow but there's just a chance that I wouldn't be in :-) so they
    gave it to me today:

    It's a bike about 5" high and a foot long. The water bottles are ball
    point pens, the pump is a mechanical pencil. The rear wheel hides
    paper clips, fasteners and safety pins, behind a disk, of course. The
    brake levers are memo clips. The seat/seat post is a micrometer. The
    front wheel has circle templates and a protractor and can be used for
    measuring distances. With a little work you can use it as a
    triangular survey tool to measure the heights of things. We measured
    the height of the FAA tower to be 80 meters.

    Now, I have lots of bikes and bike novelties, but this is the "most."

           Happy Birthday to you,
           Happy Birthday to you,
           Happy Birthday to Ed...
           <insert appropriate witty ending>

              Are you really that excited with the new "bike" Ed,
           or are you just fishing for birthday gifts from the net?

    Well, I thought it was nice of the gang.

    And no you don't have to be a hundred years old to do a century, but it
    helps.

1502.3kick stand??FRAGLE::MCCLUREFri Apr 20 1990 15:4915

    That's great!
    And Happy Birthday Ed!

    I wonder were they got it?? It sounds like a Sharper Image type gag ...
    They're the ones that have that weird golf club, and stuff.

    I bet you could mount it on your travel rack in the back for laughs! :-)

    I must ask, does it have a bike stand??? (i.e. a kick stand?)

    I has a stand that looks more like a trainer. the stand doea does
    double duty as part of the "survey instrument."

    I mentioned it to other and they said they had seen it in a catalog and
    "a store."
