Are there any specific reasons for not buying a "women's style" frame
on a mountain bike? I have been shopping for a bike for my wife as a
Christmas present and came upon what seems to be a pretty good deal
on a Trek 800 Antelope. The price is $219. and the bike is an '89
model. The bike will probably not see a great deal of use other than
pleasure rides on weekends in the local deserts/mountains so I can't
see spending a great deal of money. If any of you have comments
about the frame type, this particular bike or any others worthy of
consideration please let me know. Only a few days left...

This topic was discussed at length in an earlier topic. The bottom
line is there is no GOOD reason buy a mixte frame. In fact, there
are many reasons to not to buy one.
