1265.0. "TFCE 1989" by USCTR1::PJOHNSON () Fri Jul 28 1989 16:16

    Does anyone have information about this year's TFCE (The Flattest
    Century in the East)? When is it? How do I enter? Thanks.

    To the best of my knowledge, TFCE is on September 10th this year.

    The address used to register last year was: N.B.W. - TFCE
    						 P.O. Box 428
    						 Tiverton, RI  02878

    I will be sending them an SASE for the latest info on this year's
    ride. I'll post anything I find out here.

    If it's anything like last year, you should be able to register
    the morning of the ride.

    Regards,
    Denis

1265.2TFCE Registration Forms AvailableESKIMO::DESHARNAISFri Aug 18 1989 13:0910
    If anyone would like a copy of the TFCE registration form, send
    me your mail stop and I'll get one right out to you.

    The ride starts at 6:30 September 10th. Unlike last year,
    pre-registration is required. They already have 1000 riders
    signed up, and are limiting registration to 1500, so anyone
    who wants to register had better do it quickly.

    Regards,
    Denis

To ride in this year's TFCE (aka Tiverton) you must have sent in the
registration form by August 27th, this past Sunday. They will not take
any registrations on the day of the ride.

What ticks me off is that I have participated in TFCE for three years in
a row (including a 100 miles of rain in 1987) and have never received a
registration form from them. Yes, it is a well organized ride, but the
organizers seem to be thumbing their noses at the riders.
