1256.0. "Recomendations for a bike shop in Ney Jersey " by MEMORY::GOODWIN (in a spasm of lucidity...) Thu Jul 20 1989 15:24

Can anyone reccomend a bike shop in the Orange, NJ area. I have a
friend down there who is looking for an entry level racing bike and
the shops she has been going into have been saying "You want to
spend $350, well this bike cost $350". They are just trying to
move a bike off the floor and not spending any time trying to fit
the bike or even determining the correct frame size.

I bought my Cannondale and a TREK at Marty's Reliable Bikes in
Morristown and I am very glad of the purchases. Marty is helpful
and will give you straight answers. I know this isn't Orange but
    its close

The only cycle shop in North Jersey that I went to was CYCLESPORT in
Park Ridge. The address is listed below:

    CYCLESPORT
    Depot Square, 1 Hawthorne Ave
    Parkridge, NJ

I was there about 1 1/2 years ago. They carry some good stuff but I
do not recall the brand of bikes they sold.

1256.3Try <Chatham> Bike ShopLEVERS::GRIESMERWed Jul 26 1989 20:528
I always used the bike store on Route 24 in Chatham (I haven't been
a Garden State resident for three years). There were a couple of
very knowledgeable people working there, a father-daughter team.
It should be fairly convenient from the Oranges on 24.

    Good Luck,

Looking through the prior "SHOP" notes, I found this one.

I will second the Marty's recomendation (many years later.) Never bought a
bike there, but several journeys there for parts and service always left me
very satisfied. Another place, further South, is Sports People. Its actually
2 separate shops, staffs (bike and ?ski?), with one owner. Its in Bedminster,
on 202. They always had the parts I needed, and were pleasant to deal with.
