1204.0. "rending in Berkshire?" by SHALOT::ELLIS (John Lee Ellis - assembly required) Tue Jun 13 1989 21:23

A colleague is to spend a month or so in Reading in the near
future (he hopes) and wonders what kind of bikes one can rent
in the Reading area ... or should he just bring his own.

Answers here or directly to John ATLAST::Lawrence.

    Thanks,

If I thought you really wanted to "rend" a bicycle, I wouldn't let
    you near my collection.

As far as I remember, the best bike shop in Reading is Wilkins Cycles,
about halfway between DEC park and Reading centre on the Basingstoke
Road. They probably don't rent bikes, but they might have information.
I found them helpful the few times I bought stuff there.

They probably do not have either toe clips or aero seat posts.

Thanks. I'll forward this to John Lawrence (avid bikist colleague)
and suggest he bring his own. Where is Berkshire Cycles? I didn't
    know about that one.

RE: Aero seatpost... good point. That's the real kicker. The other
compromises you could probably tolerate for a week or two... :-)
