876.0. "What happened to the Per-Lux Company?" by 3D::LAWRENCE () Thu Sep 22 1988 16:59

    I have a lighting system made by Per-Lux, Inc (Master-line Division)
    of (last known address0 1242 East Edna Place, Covina, CA 91724.
    Now I need a replacement lens for the tail light, but the phone
    number on my literature (213) 331-7833 has been disconnected. Does
    anyone know what happened to the company? Have they moved or are
    they out of business?

    The tail light is 2.78 inches in diameter, if anyone has a red
    lens of approximately this size lying around unused, I'd like to
    see it and make an offer (if I can't find the Per-Lux company).

    Otherwise I suppose I might be able to buy a cheap round tail light
    like something made for trailers, etc and jury-rig that to work.
    The Per-Lux system is 12 volts so auto components will work fine.

       Thanks for help,

876.2no sign of Master Line in 29 Palms, CA3D::LAWRENCEThu Sep 22 1988 21:155
    (answer to .1) - yes, I tried to get a number for the Master-Line
    company, literature lists them in 29 Palms, CA - operator said
    there is no company by that name listed now. Actually I had it
    backwards in .0; Master-Line is a division of Per-Lux. Maybe if
    I have the operator search a state-wide directory for Per-Lux...

    I tried to order some lights from them a few years ago. What they
    told me was that there was a problem getting some part of their
    lights from a distributor and they were redesigning the product.
    They were going to get back to me as sson as they had something
    to sell. I think they folded.

876.4Master-Line still in business3D::LAWRENCEThu Sep 29 1988 20:044
    Update on Per-Lux and Master-Line: they ARE still around under the
    Master-Line name, and selling their line of headlights; however
    they are not in the business of selling tail-lights any more (the
    part I need, natch!)
