618.0. "Goggles." by MOSAIC::BROWN () Wed Apr 13 1988 14:19

I wear regular aviator style glasses and did not like contacts.
The regular eye checkup yesterday revealed a very dry tear film
and the optometrist basically said you're endangering the eyes by
riding so much without wind protection. Even the glasses are
marginal for keeping crap out: I rode through a black fly convention
last weekend and got several in my eyes despite wearing the glasses.
The purpose of this note is twofold, first to inform those who do
not wear anything and secondly to inquire about solutions for eyeglass
wearers. All of the riding sunglasses I've seen offer adequate wind
protection but do not fit over glasses. Is anybody aware of a pair
of quality goggles that fit over glasses or better yet, how about
a pair of Kareem goggles with prescription capability?

    Hi,

I've been wearing Rec-Specs on my bike for the past couple of years.
The haven't given me any trouble. The only thing I reccomend is
removing the inside nose bridge rubber liner and wearing them loose.

Where do you get these critters and how much for them. I am in need also
especially after dumping this weekend because I gave up my glasses for wind
goggles.

thanx

    Hi,

I've got 2 pairs the first I got at Sears, the second I got at American
Vision Centers. I got both of them on a sale promotion. The Sears
pair was promoted by a mailing Sears sent, the AVO promotion I found
in a Boston Globe Tv Week. They both cost about the same ammount
    roughly $45 dollars.
