603.0. "Bike Shop locations, new and changed." by MENTOR::REG (Keep left, except when not passing) Tue Apr 05 1988 14:31

I couldn't find the "Bike Shops" topic, maybe we never had one,
    so I'll start it here.

This is a change of location and name for (I think) the only
    bike shop in Marlborough Mass.

    	Steve's Mass Transit
    	180 Main Street
    	Marlborough, Mass
    	01752
    	617 481-8147

formerly Steve's Bicycle Shop on Hosmer St.

There is also a change of style, he's moving up the range by
quite a bit, i.e. away from the $200 bikes and BMX stuff and toward
the $1K bikes and decent component groups. I dropped in there last
night, didn't buy anything, but liked the new store.

603.1Southern NH shop w/Balance lineMKOTS1::NMKT03::DwyerWed Oct 19 1994 16:0233
This is a note for anyone interested in finding a good deal/good
shop for future reference or for someone specifically interested
in Balance MTBs.

WheelSuckers Bicycles (Concord Stage Rd., Weare NH, 603.529.3372)
wants to move the last of their `94 inventory of Balance MTBs
before the `95s arrive. Here's what's available (they're all 17"
frames & include 6 tune-ups and 1 water bottle w/cage):

	Bikes Bucks
AL450 w/bar ends, STX-SE 682.99
AL450 w/Manitou Sport, STX-SE 909.99
AL550 w/Answer PROforx, LX 972.99
AL750 w/Manitou 3, XT 1,401.99
FS-Pro w/Manitou Sport, XT 1,688.99

XR450 w/bar ends, STX-SE 591.99
XR350 w/bar ends, STX 490.99

The first group (ALxxx & FS-Pro) are the aluminum framed models.
The FS-Pro is Balance's full-suspension model...it's light & a low-
swingarm design (i.e. active suspension)...uses elastomer struts
as seat stays in the rear (if you're familiar w/Manitou's full
suspension design, this one is _very_ similar).

The XRxxx models are full CRO-MO (frame & fork).

IMHO all show good to excellent construction in frames & wheels,
the spec isn't bad either. If you call or drop in at WheelSuckers,
tell `em Greg sent ya. Maybe that'll help me get a great deal on
the `95 FS-750 I'm currently drooling over.	>;v)
