154.0. "Fall Freedom Ride" by NUGGET::MITCHELL (Chet Mitchell) Sat Oct 04 1986 15:53

       I'm organizing a bike-a-thon for the Hollis-Brookline, New Hampshire
Chemical Abuse Task Force. It will be running on October 11th from 9 AM to
4:30PM starting from Hollis, NH High School.

There will be 2 courses. Course "A", an 11.2 mile course (which a
rider can loop from 1-5 times up to 66 miles) is for inexperienced riders)
..a less difficult course..course "B" is a 15.5 mile (25k course) for more
experienced riders, which a rider can loop from 1-4 times for up to a 100k
or 62 mile ride.

Course "B" is a hillier, more difficult course, recommended for the
experienced rider. We are trying to raise money for education in the drug &
alcohol abuse area. While there is no entry fee, we are asking for donations
and for people to get sponsers. It is our "First Fall Freedom" ride through
some beautiful country in Hollis, Brookline NH & parts of Pepperill, MA. We
will be making it an annual Fall event.

If you are interested in riding or know people who would be, drop me
a NOTE and I will send you a packet (map, registration forms, etc..). I'm a
serious touring biker myself...have done about 7 metric centuries this past
year and one regular 100 miler (took me 9 1/2 hours to do that).

Well, that's interesting. A friend of mine lives in Brookline,
I'll point him at this note. Expect flames when he finds out there
is a bike-a-thon to support Chemical Abuse in his town.
