111.0. "Australian needs good bike shop in Marlborough MA" by AUSSIE::GROHN () Mon Jul 28 1986 07:02

I am working for the CSS group in Sydney Australia. I've been reading
about wedge seat bages and I would like to get one. The problem
is that nobody seems to import them into Australia

One of our Engineers (Matt Underwood)is working in Marlborough Massachusetts
untill 7th August. If anyone knows of a good bike shop in the area that may
have these bags could you leave the address with Matt on
PIPA::MUNDERWOOD.

The type of bage I'm looking for is a Eclipse Vector

111.1mail order possibilities - Bike NashbarGAUSS::LAWRENCEMon Jul 28 1986 17:267
    If Matt knows someone over here they could order it from Bike Nashbar
    if they can't find it in a local shop. Order number is EC-V-(color),
    colors are grey or black. Price 29.50. They can phone order it and
    charge to most credit cards. Reason this is all possible is Bike
    Nashbar sends things out UPS and they are very fast - typically
    you get what you ordered in 3 days or less. Phone # for credit card
    orders is 1-800-345-2453 (free call).
111.2In stock at Category 1DRAGON::GAVINMon Jul 28 1986 18:4713
    Pual Randazzo has two sizes of the Eclipse in stock at Category
    1 Cyclegoods in Tyngsboro, Ma, about 30 min from Marlboro.

    I have the smaller size, and it is adequate for a spare tube or
    tire, some tools, and a light raincoat. The larger size holds about
    twice as much.

    There is also a new bag out, I don't remember the mfr. It holds
    a spare tubular with a little room to spare, and hangs vertically
    behind the seatpost for good aerodynamics. This one is getting popular
    for training rides and time trials where a rider would like the
    spare but doesn't want any excess drag.

    I believe Don down at the Bike Barn in Westboro has them. That's
    about 10 minutes from Marlboro.

    I have heard that the Austrailians are secretly planning to come
    out with a new type of seat. Rumors have it that it will have some
    sort of an aerodynamic wing on it...

    Pardon my murder of your country's name. My fingers seem to be
    disengaged from the brain today.

Thanks for the replys so far. Matt is very busy doing gatearray simulations so
I'm looking for a shop in the imediate area. Anyone one know of one?

re .2 What is the address of the Bike Barn in Westboro?

re .4 Aero dynamic wing - so someone let the secret out.
        The wing has flaps on it that increass the lift just as your about
        to hit a pothole and thus lets you glide over the top. Also
        wing has spoilers which are linked to the brakes and thus kill the
        lift, giving the tyres better grip.

If you want Marlboro, try Steve's Bike Shop in Marlboro. Rt. 20 to Hosmer
St., up a block to little plaza on left. Have him call Steve's at 481-8147 if
he wants better directions.

The Bike Barn is I-495 to Rt. 9. Go about a 1/4 mile past Rt. 30 and look for
little store on the right. If he hits the light and the Burger King, he has
gone too far. If he goes into the Burger King, he has gone way too far!

Hey, folks, lets keep our technology to ourselves. Remember the America's
Cup. Let those Aussies have a little bit of technology, and they steal you
blind. If they get that seat bag, next thing you know, they'll have the
Coors Brewery and we'll have to travel down there to see our races. I say
cut off their node to spite our race!
