20.0. "Pan Mass Challenge Scheduled" by LSMVAX::MILLER () Mon Feb 03 1986 12:30
I just received a note from Billy Starr, the Pan Mass Challenge coordinator.
The PMC is going to have to be run on June 21 and 22 this year in order for
us to use the Mass Maritime Academy.
Billy assures us that this is a one year only change, and that 1987 will
see us riding during the second weekend of August.
What this means is that we're all going to get into shape 2 months earlier.
Remember, this is essentially two centuries, back to back! We're also going
to have 2 months less to get our pledges in.
I am volunteering to operate the Wellfleet waterstop this year, as I did
last year. I need two helpers to volunteer to help.
The work will start at 7:00 am and last till noon and consist of *SERVING*
the riders. After the last rider goes past, we can hop on the bikes and
do the last 20 miles.
Anybody want to help? I will provide free lodging in my summer place,
overnight, free supper and breakfast, and all the oranges you can slice.
