586.1So what does it take to be a moderator?NETRIX::"maddog@kitche.zk3.dec.com"maddogThu Mar 27 1997 00:465
Since I have never been much of a "VMS NOTES" user, I do not know
what is expected of a moderator, nor the steps to become one.

Being a moderator is no big deal. In a conference like this,
a minimal amount of work would be required. Once in a great
while, some notes may need to be moved or removed, usually
just to facilitate things.

In some conferences, moderators spend a lot of time, they are
really like police, monitoring, and at times, removing information.
I don't think that would be necessary here, except in extreme cases.

Someone who reads this conference regularly would make the best
moderator. I could handle the job, and will do so if there are
no other volunteers (or I could co-moderate it). The best moderator
would be someone who uses this conference regularly, and unfortunately,
I do not.

But I will either moderate or provide consulting to someone who uses
this conf. regularly, but may be unsure of how to moderate. I'm not
sure if it is possible to moderate this from the Web interface; best
moderator would have access from an OpenVMS system, but it may be possible.
(I can get at this from OpenVMS, the Matt Thomas xnotes UNIX interface, or
the Web, FWIW).

Send mail to masinick@zk3.dec.com if you need either a moderator or
help moderating.
