2281.0. "Help needed with MG Maestro problem...." by BONNET::NIMMO () Wed Jul 13 1994 20:25
We have a 2.0 MG Maestro ( 1988/89 ) and have the following problem..
Under normal circumstances the needle on the temperature gauge sits about the
1/4 mark. However when it moves up towards 1/2 way the rev counter starts to go
haywire and then the motor keeps cutting out.
This happens when sitting in traffic. As we live in the south of France this is
a real problem in summer i.e. outside air temperature combined with build up of
tourist traffic.
I've tried asking Rover ,UK & Rover, France but they only refer me to a local
Rover dealer. Rover dealers in this area are few and far between , especially
one who is experienced and reliable.
Anyone had experience of this problem??
