2244.0. "Roof rack incompatible!!" by BRUMMY::BRACEY (There ain't no sanity clause) Mon Mar 28 1994 17:08

I have recently swopped my Audi 80 for a Calibra. I have a Theule roof
rack that was bought for the Audi but also has brackets for 3 other
cars, none of these brackets fit the Calibra. Halfords say that they
can't get brackets on their own and I will have to buy a complete new
    roof rack.

Has anybody else had this problem? If so how did you fix it?

    good idea,

I *made my roofrack brackets fit my Cavalier (same as Calibra ?).

*Take the gutter brackets, flatten them with a hammer, sleeve them with
cycle inner tube & buy 4 metric bolts from a hardware store (Drews,
    Reading), cut bolts to length.

Thanks for the info, the Calibra is not the same as the Cavalier.

The Calibra has covers in the roof that when slid back reveal a
bit of angled steel that the rack clamps to. I am considering machining
some bits of steel and doing a Meccano job on the old roof rack.
