| Wadham Kennings are the sort of garage who ring up PHH when you have a
problem with your Vauxhall alarm and tell them not to allow Digital to have VSL
alarms fitted !!!!
So as for the ICE bit - IMHO - they haven't got a *%%%ing clue.
Andy_who_had_his_CDi_towed_in_because_the_Vauxhall_alarm_screwed_up
PS
I had it towed in again the next day because they didn't fix it properly the
first time, only this time they were fully booked with no garage space and the
poor mechanic had to fix it outside in a terrible rain storm !!
Should have done it right first time !!!

2134.6 | CD Player for Vauxhalls | WOTVAX::ROXBURGHA | | Wed Nov 10 1993 17:13 | 9 |
| I've just rung up the local Vauxhall dealer and they will supply their single
CD/Radio for 108 quid + vat. This is a one off payment that is not connected
to the annual lease agreement.
The CD player replaces the Radio/Cassette player.
Rgds,
Andy.

Why should the vat be included, vat registered companies don't pay vat
do they?

| But there are some things which a company has to pay VAT on which they
cannot claim the VAT back on. Some years ago the rules changed, such
that the company that I was working for at the time could no longer
claim back the VAT on the (one and only) company car.

This is not true, if it was for the use of the company.

The rules changed to try to prevent a personal car being disgused as a
company car.
Digital changed the rules of it's car scheme at that time, to be able to
claim the VAT back.
You just have to talk with the Inland revenue, and find out what the
allowances and restrictions are.
Then you take your choice - to stick within the allowances/restrictions
and claim the VAT back - or to work outside those
allowances/restrictions and pay the VAT.

Hi,
Has anyone any experience with the Vauxhall single CD/Tuner.
Any comments on sound quality, what makes it skip etc., would be very welcome.
Thanks,
Simon Austin

The one fitted in the Calibra I had was OK, nice sound, good volume,
but it cooked CD's (like all-in-one tape units can do). Not sure what
adverse effect this would have on the CD's, but they were seriously
warm after 30 minutes.

Had my CD player four days now. I've got a 1.7TD gls wrapped
around it. No problems yet, Infact I think its rather good. I would
have liked a few other gadgets + speakers that can handle base, but on
the whole I like it.

2134.22 | replace Vectra hifi with own unit for duration of lease? | KZIN::HUDSON | That's what I think | Mon Mar 03 1997 19:06 | 22 |
| I went for the CD upgrade mentioned in .7 when I had my last Cavalier.
I've been really pleased with the CD player; it was well worth the extra
money.
But now my car is up for renewal. In order to have the option of a CD
player in a Vectra, you have to get a GLS. For an LS or an Envoy, the
catalog (and Wadham Kenning) say that you can't upgrade to a CD player.
I don't want to pay an extra load of money + tax to get a GLS just so I
have the option of adding a CD player!
I mailed Vauxhall to ask if it would be possible to take out the unit
that comes with the LS or Envoy and then put it back at the end of the
lease but they didn't answer me.
Has anyone any experience of doing this? I realise that if I take out
the original unit then any one I put in won't work with the dashboard
display stuff but I'm not bothered about this...
Thanks for any comments

| Nick,
You may want to get in touch with Simon Austin as he is planning to
fit his own personal CD player and auto changer into his new Vectra
which is being delivered shortly. Currently he has it in his Astra.

Royston
