Long time no grief!.I must admit after driving the new XR2i
    16v I was impressed,because it's not a "KEV" car,(unlike escort RS
    turbo's :^).It's smooth,responsive and very smart.

RE: -.1

You were lucky. When I came back from DECworld in '88 I offered someone on the
plane a lift because my wife and children were coming to pick me up in the
VW Camper.

Imagine my suprise when she turned up in a Renault 5 that she had bought
herself whilst I was away - terribly embarrassing! Still we got 3 adults, 2
children and the baggage inside (just)!

Only seen three so far.

One on Friday (31st July). No trade plates on that I could see. Not even
perched inside the front/rear screens. Wonder what was going on?

the other two, seen on Saturday, near Windsor

BMW 300SL-24 (driven by a middle aged woman, doing about 25 mph!)

Ferrari Testarossa (sp?) (You should have seen the smile on the drivers
face as he overtook everyone else!)

Apart from those, haven't seen any more, but those last two were enough!

There I was just trundling up the A4 on Saturday lunchtime thinking to
myself that I hadn't seen a single K-reg, when all of sudden about four
came around the corner - a Cavalier; Citroen; Metro and a Nissan. I
    couldn't believe it !

Then as I came into Reading the traffic slowed up and a que was
forming for an accident ahead. A K-reg Granada estate had pulled out
in front an old banger which made quite a mess of the Granada. I felt
so sorry for the young lady driving it, must of been all of two hours
    old !

Somebody here in Newbury parked their bright red Rover 21? K reg ragtop next
 to my Rover 214.

It is now sitting a respectable distance away.

Looks nice with the hood down...

1852.23WHAT NEW CARS??WELCLU::STANDERRON STANDERFri Aug 07 1992 15:5421
Well up here in sunny Herts I have so far seen,
one K Sierra [ heaven knows why ]
3-4 K BMW 3 series
a few K rover 2xx
and one K BMW 320 coupe in our car park at WLO and thats just about
it.
I hope I'm going to be proved wrong but, I think this august will
prove to have been a disaster for K reg cars.

Also, I heard that car fleet are not sending orders off to Hertz/PHH
at the moment. I wonder if this is so that H and P can strike a real
hefty discount on all the unsold cars there must be lurking out there.
If thats true I bet the discount wont get passed onto us in lower
lease costs.

BTW is there a notes file on AUDI's ?? I'm due a new car in Sept and
thought I might go for something decent before the Govt decide to
scrapp company cars for good.

I am the proud owner of a K reg SAAB 9000 CS XS - shiny red!

No extras, the CD and Air Con are standard. Not quite the raw powerof
my old BX 16Valve, but a much better drive.

If anyone is interested, Derek at SAAB Reading is VERY helpful. Give
him a call and tell him I reccomended him. I get a cup of coffee for
    each reccommendation!
