1824.0. "Trade now, August, or Nov/ec" by SUBURB::THOMASH (The Devon Dumpling) Wed Jul 08 1992 18:14

	Okay, anyone any advice?

My Montego 2.0I is three years old on Aug 1st, 32,000 miles

I'm thinking of a Toyota Carina, Mazda 626 or 323 (or anything else I
might get a good deal on - suggestions please)

I usually trade in after 3 years and get an ex-demo.

	Does the panel think

	1. I'll get a better deal this month as there will be few people
buying/exchanging as they'll be waiting for K reg,

	2. Get a good deal next month - all new cars and no demos - will they
actuallly want to keep their demos

	3. or wait until Nov/Dec when demand might be lower, and I can pick up
	a K reg.

	Thanks,
	Heather

    Heather,

What Car have a supplement this month that covers all this. From
memory, I think they say wait to Decemeber time, or, try July, as they
may have a cancelled order or the like which they need to get rid of.

But I read all this 2 weeks ago :^)

2 weeks ago - was this Julys What car?

I'll look in the newsagents on the way home,

Waiting 'till December also means things like end of 3-year warrenty,
MOT, and extra depreciation (tho' probably less than the new car!)

	Thanks,
	Heather

Thanks for the tip about What car.

I bought Julys edition of the mag, with the red book covering all the
	info I wanted.

Oct, Nov and Dec. look like good months - I might try selling in
October, and if I don't get a good offer, then try Nov and Dec to
	get a good exchange deal.

The 323 has a good write up, as did the Carina.

I've done well over 80k in my Mazda 626 16v hatchback. Cannot praise it
enough - has done 6 trips to Valbonne & back since Jan. Never had any
problems-- very quick, comfortable & all the right gizmos -- electronic
ABS, variable power steering, electrical everything.

Only recent I haven't replaced it is that I don't like the new one as
much -- shape is odd, & the catalyst takes far too much power.
