    I read in a Classic Car mag this month that someone has started making
    them again. They've even developed a 4 wheel version! When I go back to
    England in a couple of weeks, I try to remember to bring the article
    back with me and give you some more info.

You don't see many about but I guess they should be quite cheap. A friend
in England just gave one away a couple of weeks ago ... are you really sure 
you want one? :-)

    
    Yeeah,I would like to get one.They are maybe not so popular in the

    They will send you an information pack if you send them two pounds.
    Original models are still around but they are quite rare of course,
    I would guess value to be between 500 pounds and 1500 pounds but a
    really good one could be a lot more expensive .

    Given your construction laws, I'm not surprised! In a country that
    builds cars like Napoleonic forts and insists that they always have
    their lights on, aren't you going to be in trouble driving a 3 wheeled
    Tupperware lunchbox?  :-)

    No joking I like these kind of "weird" three wheeler vehicles like 
    the Bond, and for example the german made Messerscmitt and Heinkel
    from the 50's.(Old airplane factorys.)
    The Germans had two wheels in front thow.Their engines where about
    500cc.
    I don't really see them as real car's rather a funny low budget-get-on
    -the-road machines from a time that have past long ago.
    Today in our hightech high quality high cost high of everything world,
    It's time to return back to basics.

    have just watched a Bug go round the roundabout outside my office.
    In the middle of the rush hour, so being used for real work .
    
    Yesterday, there was the annual Bond Bug Owners Club rally in the UK.
    Don't know how many showed up.
    
    I'd still rather have a Messerschmit Tiger than a Bug .. but I agree
    with your sentiments. I like technical oddities. What about the
    Scootacar for real weirdo-freaks ......
    
    BTW, I'm contemplating buying a Mini-Marcos that I've been offered.
    Shows there's nothing sane about my style appreciation.

    And I thought that I was the only person that remembered the Scootacar.
    Great little vehicle.... mine was fluorescent lime green with a row of
    black footprints the went over the car from front to back. The things
    we do in our youth........ 
    
    Had a habit of cornering on two wheels and a door handle but you soon
    got used to leaning a la motorbike inside that beast. Weakest point was
    the combined starter/generator unit that was bolted to the 197cc
    Villiers 2-stroke. It was a 6 volt thingy with the points buried deep
    inside a massive cast iron rotor. The only way to get enough sparks at
    the plug was to use a 12v battery to turn the motor over and use half
    the cells to drive the sparks......
    
    I know it's a rathole, but does anybody know the whereabouts of one of
    these things, I'd love to get my hand on one again.

    My brother-in-law is on the committee of the Heinkle-Trojan owners club,
    and is heavily into this sort of motor. He doesn't own a scootacar, but
    will probably know the wearabouts of some. I'll ask him when he (and
    for that matter I) get back from the South of France!

    I read a Swedish car magazine last night and found a another
    for me unknown piece of machinery.
    -59 King,two wheels in the front and one in back.Two doors that
    open in the front end of the door.Looked like a meatloaf to me.
    Any idea what this is?

There was a King Midget made in the US for a number of years. It had 4
wheels in the normal place, a small air cooled motor bike motor in the rear.

    
    A Triking perhaps? Basically a replica of the 20s/30s Morgan 3 wheelers
    powered by a modern V-Twin motorcycle engine.

	I've seen one of these bond-bug kits made-up.

	They are 4 wheelers!!!!!!!!!

	I'm sure that there'll be something about them in the kit-car magazines.

    They've been at most of the kit car shows this year. If anyone is going
    to Ashtead (Kent) this weekend they might get the info and post it
    here. I'll see if I can get my spies to pick up the address.
