I have some American relations coming to Britain for the first time.
We'll be taking them up to Scotland for a short (1500 miles) trip,
    returning via York.

I would like to take them up in an Espace. Would any kind person
be willing to lend me an Espace from 18th - 24th July?

Would anyone with a nice big car be able to swap with my Astra GTE

It's my girlfriends parents wedding anniversary and she's arranged a

driven car to drive them to the station but being a saturday they're
    all booked.

They live in Basingstoke and we live in Bracknell so anywhere near

Can anyone help?

I booked a holiday with Global and then ILG went bust - because there
are no flights, I need a large estate car or at least a large hatchback
saloon to go on my first skiing holiday in France with a friend.

If you would not mind swopping your car for my Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI for a
week commencing 22nd March to 31st March, then let me know either by
calling me on 7847 6306 or mailing me Nick Hughes @HHL.

Thankyou for your assistance.

What on earth are you planning to take with you? I'm taking my Pug with

    Nick,

I'm not sure if this is helpful, but I recently returned from a
skiing holiday in Switzerland. Two of us used a Citroen AX GT for
the drive from England, and found it comfortable and quick even
with luggage and two pairs of skiis inside the car. It also showed
its heels to a few BMWs around the Nurburgring, but thats another
    story.

I have booked to spend a week in Cornwall from 10/6.

There will be four adults travelling, along with luggage. I have just
realised that it will be a bit of a squeeze to get into my
    "205" 1.9 GTi.

Is there anybody out there with a suitable alternative vehicle, who is
prepared to swop for a week.

Anything considered. (In the same sort of perf./economy.)

Does anyone want an extended (12 day) test drive of my car??

It is a silver Vauxhall Calibra (8v).

All I need from you is your car in exchange for 12 days... from PM
Friday 17th May until AM 29th May. Your car needs to have a bigger boot
than mine!! - e.g. Cavalier, Sierra, Granada, Carlton or equivalents...

I am based in Basingstoke, live in Newbury, and can get to Reading
    easily.

I am going on a sailing holiday on the East Coast (Ipswich), and need a
car with a enough space and a big enough boot to get myself, wife, 2
children, luggage for 12 days, rubber dinghy, oars, life jackets, food
for 12 days, etc etc in.

Please either reply here, or mail to Chris Jordan @ BST.

Does anyone have a lease car they can lend me for this coming weekend.

Last Wednesday I was in an accident (not my fault). The result of which I
suffered some damage to the front of my car which makes me reluctant to drive
the vehicle to work let alone to Oxford and back. I am in Reading so thats
where I would have to pick up and drop off the vehicle, Friday evening and
Monday morning.

If anyone can help please phone me on 830 3122.

Wanted for 1 week by some poor support specialists...

A large capacity *diesel* engined car for 1 week from 8th to 17th
January 1993, to take four people on a skiing trip to France.
In return I can offer a very clean and tidy metallic steel grey Rover 216
    SLi 16 valve - a medium sized sporty-ish 5-door hatchback.
Cars I have in mind would be similar to a diesel Cavalier Hatchback or
Peugot 405 turbo diesel etc, in other words, economical with lots of
    boot space.

Please contact Clive Barham (7833 3426) or Mark Young (7833 3922) at the

Did you realise that after (I think) Jan 1st if you buy inside the community
with duty on it, that the limits on wines, spirits, fags, goods etc. are
effectively non-existant ?

something like 90 litres of wine etc...

As you are going to France, and wine & fags are so cheap anyway, why bother
with duty free, as there are still the strict limits on those.

988.31PLAYER::BROWNLReally? Well there's a thing...Tue Dec 15 1992 17:437
After January 1st 1993, duty paid restrictions are completely
non-existant Jane. The rules are vague about the difference between
personal imports and a business, but UK Customs, as could be expected,
have imposed arbitrary limits above which you'll be considered a
business. For wine, this is 100 cases.
