1017.0. "Tools - Moving Dolly" by RANGER::DAVE () Thu Aug 22 1991 12:08

    I'm in the market for a dolly - something which will hold up to 300 to
    400 lbs. Any good brands/makes? Are there ones that convert into a
    cart? If so, are they as good as the regular dolly?

    Where is a good place in the greater Lowell/Nashua/Worcester area to
    purchase one? (maybe Spags??) Thanks in advance for your help!

1017.1under $30 at HQJUPITR::COOMBSThu Aug 22 1991 13:2810
    I recently purchased one at Homequarters in Shrewsbury. It has
    inflatable tires(as opposed to solid rubber) and is rated for up to 600
    lbs. It has a 6" lip at the bottom to rest the work on. Although it
    does not have a strap to hold the work, I use a 1" strap clamp (under
    $10) to hold the work on. It does not have a 2nd axle to act as a cart.
    I can't get over how handy it is and I am amazed at how much I use it.
    I just moved a wood stove (400 lbs and bulky) with real ease so I now
    have better faith in the capacity rating. The price was under $30.

.1 seems to be taloking about a hand truck. A dolly is a rectangular wood
frame on four wheels.

Re: -1 right

You can get a cheap hand truck or a real one. The home centers sell the cheap
ones. I have a Dayton aluminum one, since I was hauling it around a lot, the
weight difference is significant. Dayton makes a good dolly. Steel ones are
around $50-60, the aluminum one was $105. W.D Grainger carries them.
