| Onyx is keeping a low profile this year. Mom won't be home for
the trick-or-treaters. The porch light is off. The front room
lights are off. I suspect, however, that there will be a variety
of kitties (including one long, very muscular black one) sitting
in the 2 large windows in front, checking out the various costumes.
Amelia (a brown tabby w/white) , however, is going as a terrorist
she's terrorizing Dolly (all black) this week for some bizarre
reason.
Dolly is going as the invisible cat. The only time you see her
is meal times and as she flashes past in a dead run with Amelia
close behind.

| I let my three black cats on the front porch this morning but
I made sure to lock the porch door.
During tick or treat I didn't give out candy this year so all
the kids were inside as usual. My only female who was spayed
earlier this year is on her 4th day of being in heat, poor
thing :-(

| Well Mr Barkley (98% black with a white locket) spent the night
really peed off and terrorizing the rest of the household. He was
mad at us because we wouldn't let him outside so he took it
out on all the other cats. Boy was he peed this morning when he
wanted to go out but saw the rain.
Then we have Van Gogh (80% black with white) who was his happy-go-
lucky self trying to peek at everyone who came to the door.
And then we have Ziggy (80% black with the cutest white zig zag stripe
down his nose) who just wanted to play and the trick-or-treaters didn't
phase him in the least.
And the rest of the crew (non-black) were in various spots in the
house. Some were nosey and looked out the windows while my Dewey
(the big orange pumpkin) hit under the bed until 10:00 pm!!
And..we had a kitty (real one) trick-or-treater who just came running
up the porch with some kids and bounced right in my house. Thank
god...he is owned by our new neighbors and isn't a new stray!!! Cute
little kitty named Shadow...who already found the cat food on my porch!!

| Nippa returned this morning at 5am after a 4 day mousing binge.
She was quite fat and happy. I suspect she was lurking in the shadows
as the 1 group of trick or treaters came to the house.

822.5 | Max, Stripe, and Sun Bear | LEZAH::BROWN | On [real]time or else... | Tue Nov 01 1994 12:06 | 17 |

Max (all black), Stripe (tuxedo), and Sun Bear (black with
some white underneath) stayed in the cattery last night,
minimizing the chance of escapes out the front door.
Max, for all his ponderous bulk, is fast and has the
ability to slip through human fingers at will.
Stripe, an ex-feral, would be hiding anyway. And
Sun Bear, the world's largest kitten, well, let's
just say he's unpredictable and would probably stow away
in some tot's bag of candy until the perfect moment came
to leap out of the bag, causing the tot's parent to
veer off the road, crashing the family car, which bursts into
flames, buring down most of Wilton. At this point he would
show up at the smoldering wreakage of our home and
pointedly demand food. Get the idea?

| Poor old Tigger (16) spent the night at the vets. He's really sick
poor love.
The other 4 spent the night inside trying to get out. And, before
dawn, showed me that my very expensive three way cat door will not keep
them in. The door has a series of slot-in doors that lets the flap
either open in, open out, or open bothways, or shut. Christopher,
(my roof climbing pest) put his big wedge head under the top tab and
pushed it up until it came out, as demonstrated to me this morning.
What makes me angry is, I had the insert taped down with duct tape.
I swear he I could hear him snicker.
Thank goodness it's all over for another year.

In order to convince Meatbee (99% black) and Stingo (all white), to
stay home, they were treated to some left over (althought they think it
was made just for them) Salamon for dinner. Then we watched TV
upstairs away from the noises and people downstairs. Both of them
got to sit on me the entire time. UG! They're heavy!
We watched Northern Exposure - Meatbee just loves to watch the moose!

| Midnight (all black) stayed in our bedroom, which is better than
last year when she spent the night under the bed ;^) .
Loki (orange tabby) slept in his chair in the living room, where
the kids could see him and he could see them (when he was awake), but
slept 99% of the time.
Bigfoot (mackeral tabby) spent most of the night in with Midnight
(because he was sleepy, not because he was scared), but did look out
the door for a few minutes to see what all the commotion was about.

| Tabitha, my all black cat, helped me greet trick-or-treaters again this
year. She doesn't get intimidated by anything except for a cat show.
They all loved her and she let them pet her. She had a lot of fun.
The rest of the cats (Kyra-White, PITA-Gray, Mondo-tuxedo) didn't want
anything to do with trick-or-treaters! They ran every time someone
knocked at the door!

| I'm not sure what the FIRM's black cats did this Halloween; they
wouldn't tell me. I went to bed fairly early and all I know is that
when I woke up, the house was a mess and Kostas looked like he put on
another pound. They all seemed very happy, though.

Well, Deb, it could be that THE FIRM, was at my house for the annual
Halloween Soiree, (for the drawing room set, hosted by the Princess
Panther Jane,) or the Halloween Blowout Bash, for the Family room set,
hosted this year by Spots, and the CinnyMan. Cinny was hung over for 2
days ;-)
I found 2 (empty) kegs and lots of empty pizza boxes in the trash on
Tuesday morning.

| well, that explains Kostas's overnight weight gain. And anytime they
get to practice law they are happy, so I guess that makes sence.

Yes, sigh, I have been sued a lot this year. The Princess has been
keeping Kostas and his law clerks very busy. She is also
contemplating writing her memoirs. That project will also entail :)
the use of The Firm, for film rights, non-disclosure statements etc.
She is such a busy little soul!
