	I was supposed to get one of the new pc's.... but someone cried a bit
more and got it instead. I got his old pc, which does not have a sound card. At
home my pc does not have a sound card and I was able to download something
called speak.exe and load it so the pc speaker will play wav files. This of
course did not bid well on nt 4.0. Is there something available that will allow
the pc speaker to play wav files? I'm asking because the way this thing lets
you know you have mail, if there is a problem, is really annoying. :-)

	Go spend $25 for a sound card. There is no "speak.exe" for
	Windows NT 4.0.

    Where can one fine a sound card for $25?
    I was just quoted $99 for a soundblaster Pro.....
    
    Any pointers would be appreciated.

	http://www.carlind.com had sound cards for cheap. $24 for
	an ESS AudioDrive card. SB Pro compatible.

    	I was browsing on the web and clicked on a pointer for some sort
    	of file called .wav ... but some sort of error occurred and no-
    	thing happened.

    This is a bit puzzling. Alot of internet data these days seems to be
    in the form of sounds, either music or voice clips.  Aren't soundcards
    therefore important internet tools with which to make listening to
    these sounds possible ?

    p.s.	I'm still living with speak.exe on my win 3.1 system at
    		home.  When new mail arrives in my Eudora, some fuzzy music
