| 1st episode of the season was, once again, a classic.
Synopsis follows form feed
Elaine applies for Jackie O's old job, but winds up getting a job
as a personal assistant to one of the Editors, who is VERY fussy about
everything.
George, in his new job with the Yankees, gives advice to EVERYONE,
but especially Danny Tartabull, Buck Showalter and Don Mattingly
with disastrous results.
Jerry gets a date with a Miss America contestant, and in need of a
chaperone, brings along Kramer who it turns out knows EVERYTHING about
beauty pageants. Kramer becomes the personal adviser to Miss Rhode
Island, with disastrous results (sort of).

Well I wouldn't put it up there with the classic Seinfelds
(at least in MHO, I wasn't rolling .....)
To you tell the truth I was kind of disappointed with the
season openers for my four favorite [still running] sitcoms,
ie. Wings/Fraiser/Seinfeld/Mad About You. They weren't bad,
but after a summer of re-runs I was hoping for something
great .....

The first two shows have been ok, but not great.
Kramer, my favortie character. Seems a bit overplayed. Much more
excitable and pushy than last year.
Things are a bit out of sync for some reason.
Still a funny show for me.

| I thought last nights Seinfeld was one of the best - this show always makes
me grin, but I was LOL, especially during Kramers scenes where he is talking
about his underwear... "but my boys need to be secure"

31.7 | a couple good lines but still predictable | ICS::STUART | Whatever it takes. | Sat Jan 07 1995 03:49 | 15 |

Oh good ! an original story line !
Elaine asks Jerry if he's noticed something odd about his girlfriend ....
Jerry goes out of his way to bring it out and ruins the relationship.
"Cosmo" does the same to George.
The story lines have the same style, even with Elaines boy friends....
Jerry and the Masusse, the girl with the laugh, are the breasts real ...etc
They need some new material !

I thought George's line, once he heard about how his plan for Jerry to
execute the roommate switch turned out, was one of the funniest things
ever said on television.

In the "Are they real or are they fake" episode, was that Teri
Hatcher [Lois Lane]? Sure looked like her.

Yes, that was Lois/Terri Hatcher. It's kinda funny, becasue Jerry
has allwasy wanted to date a Lois and have her look like Lois Lane. He
has mentioned this meny times - and in that episode, he had Lois.

I thought last night's show was great, especially Cosmo Kramer. I bet
Michael Richard will get the Emmy for this show. I think they did a
great job with the Jimmy storyline.

Saw a re-run the other night, when Kramer burns down Susan's
family's cabin with a cigar.
Well, Naomi was none other than Gloria from "Hope and Gloria".

I'm kinda upset at lastnight ep' in regards to Susan
[hit next unseen if you didn't see lastnights show]
I was stunned that they killed Susan off, I was more stunned they gave
George and the rest of the cast no emotion at all cept' for the happy
feeling inside that George does not have to be married.
I was left w/a weird feeling after that show.

| Spoiler
It did seem rather gruesome, didn't it?
It failed to strike me as "funny" as well. Perhaps, with the coming year
being its last season, they're making a concerted effort to turn us off to
the show so we won't complain when it's gone.

Spolier:
Well, I wouldn't say they were emotionless ... it seemed that
George was somewhat relieved to be out of the wedding, but he
also seemed to be upset that it ended this way. He wasn't
jumping for joy.

| Last night's show made me cringe....I thought "Seinfeld" was better
than stooping to that kind of humor. I was totally turned off by the
reference to being killed in a plane crash.....that could have been
edited out....the Valujet plane crash isn't even a week old, they
should never have aired that.
I find humor related to people dying not very funny......I thought the
show totally crossed the line last night.......the ending was extremely
callous and left me cold.
One person's opinion!

Ummm, that episode was probably filmed weeks ago, and I'd say it
was certainly way too late to change it between the time of the
crash and now.

Well, folks, c'mon, every character in Seinfeld is Shallow with a capital
S. I'm actually surprised that it took this to make people cringe, as
most of the attitudes represented (sort of selfish/anal-retentive)
haven't been much different than last night's. I mean, it was part of
the fun. Did you actually "like" the characters before this (aka would
want to hang around with them)?
