A friend of mine has installed a Mender one in his Silver Face 73 Twin-Reverb and has some problems with it. The Mender' channel really screams but the original clean channel has lot of hum, noise, .... Someone told him that this problem was solved with the new The Twin (Black face) model. Do you have any experience with Mender One problems on a Silver face TR ? Thanks in advance.

I don't personally have any experience with the 'Mender itself. In general, the things that he can look for are: tubes going bad, the unit itself, or the amp. He might try pulling the unit out, and putting the tubes in the sockets. Then try to see if the hum is still there. If the tubes are not bad, then it may be the amp - or even pickups/shielding on his guitar. /J | |||||

I have a Mender in my Pro Reverb. No noise on the clean channel at all. Be sure the Mender's grounding strap is attached to one of the convenient tube bases (far right tube as you look from the back seems the best). /Jimi |
