| Well...Time flies, when you're having fun! I've been using the
Hawkbucker for about 8 months now. I am using it in conjuction with
a Duncan Jazz Stack (Classic I think) in my G&L, I think it's an
overall good pickup.
It has a very good mid to high range and has a very "Boomy" bottom
end, this might be due to the way my cabinets are set up though. The
high end is very crisp and clear, very good for slapping & popping.
I am using it with the Coil Splitting option, this has allowed me to
get a great variety of tones. It's set up to use Humbucking-,Single Coil-
or Series switching.
I opted for the Neck position pickup due to the J-pickup at the
Bridge, I think this is the best setup sofar. I've used it in recording
with good results, it's a good pickup for percussive sounds, and good
for using with digital effects due to it's high frequency end.
If I had to rate it's performance by itself, I might give it about an
7.9 to 8. Using it with the Jazz pickup, boosts it to about 8.5 to 9
rating.
As of yet, I still think that there are still a great amount of
possibilities undiscovered!
