| Hi Siro,
The MVME355 and VDAD A/D convertor drivers are intended as example programs that
demonstrate the use of the KAV30 system services. The sources for the examples
ship with the KAV30 software. They are intended as templates for users
developing their own drivers for VMEbus devices. The MVME355 and VDAD A/D
drivers are NOT officially supported by Digital, they were developed as part of
our test and verification process of the KAV30 hardware and software.
With over 4000 VMEbus devices from over 400 different vendors (gee, I'm starting
to sound like a marketing person), we had to limit ourselves to testing with a
small number of VMEbus modules.
If I understand things correctly, Digital will be working with strategic
suppliers of VMEbus modules to migrate their drivers and application software to
the KAV30.
At the moment you will have to write any drivers for yourself, or alternatively
the EIC can provide a full range of services in assisting customers in
integrating the KAV30 into their VMEbus configurations.
If you have any specific questions on using the KAV30 system services to
implement a VMEbus device driver, feel free to ask these questions in this
notes-file.

| Sito,
we are just about to start gathering the drivers and put them in the
ASSETS library.
However, Marino Formia finished a design in with VME and VAXELN for
ALENIA. You may ask him for more details (@TNO).
Regards,
Wolfgang
