1093.0. "Alarm with event>1" by SNOC01::MISNETWORK (They call me LAT) Wed Jun 05 1991 06:16

    I have looked for similar note quickly without success. When trying to
    create the alarm below I get the following error -

    MCC 0 ALARMS RULE SNO-MEA-DECnet-DOWN
    AT  5-JUN-1991 17:12:53

    Missing right parenthesis in alarm expression.

    If I only try to set the alarm off with just the one event instead of
    two, the alarm is created without error. Is there a limitation to the
    number of events a single alarm can be fired on ? Sounds like it is but
    I can't remember in all the documentation if this is so.

    Cheers,
    Louis

Sorry - you can only specify 1 Event in an Alarm Rule Expression, ie:

  expression = (node4 MEOR01 circuit mea-1 circuit down)

also, you can only specify one relation in a regular Alarm Rule, ie:

  expression = (node4 FOO maximum address > 50)

In a later release of the Alarms FM, we anticipate adding logical operators,
(AND, OR, NOT) for more complex Alarm Rules, ie:

  expression = ( (this event) OR (this event) AND (this relation) )
