144.1 | B's coaching still worst part of this team. | KOOLIT::R_PLOURDE | | Wed Apr 09 1997 12:12 | 24 |

Opinions on last nights game.
1. Mario was trying WAYYY toooo harrddd to bury that puck.. He coulda
had 5 goals easily if he didn't apply so much pressure to himself.
Very uncharacteristic of Mario missing open nets and fanning on
shots.
2. Carey showed signs of coming around. Flashes of playing like a
quality goaler but still very shakey and still doesn't seem to be the
type of goalie that can carry a team (ie Ranford).
3. Fans in Pittsburgh are really going to miss Mario... He will be
Pittsburgh's Bobby Orr. 25years from now they will still talk about
this guy regularly.
4. Bruins looked pretty bad as usual, I think Kasper and Kap should
both be fired in the second period of the B's last game. Just to give
the fans something to cheer for in that last game.

| .....Carey finally stood up for a change....obviously his
flopping-style worked in Washington, but it ain't working here...
Kasper et al should be put in irons in City Hall Plaza, and fans should
be able to take shots at 'em (street hockey sticks & balls, heck, even
I ain't that cruel...)
I got an answer back from Jeremy M. Jacobs yesterday...looks like he's
decided to answer some of us "disgruntled fans"....if anyone cares,
Jacobs states that "like you, I am disappointed in the Bruins'
performance this year", but he's "optimistic they can turn this
around"....goes on to say "we have a young team, with a couple of
strong draft picks coming on board (huh??)...this team will will be
successful again soon".......ya right!!!!!!
then he says "I can assure you we are not blind (no, just blind DRUNK!)
to the current problems....Harry knows he can do whatever is necessary
to assemble an aggressive team that can win games".......
oooooo, really going out on a limb on that one, Jeremy...win games.....
how about winning The CUP! huh????
here's the best...he goes on to say "...as we all know, you can't buy
winning teams....look at high-payroll teams like St. Louis or
Pittsburgh......teams like Buffalo, Edmonton, FLorida---all with low
payrolls---have the best records".....
I know I probably shoulda posted this in "Misc Chatter" note, but
thought it would stimulate some chatter in Mario's note...
FWIW

| "Bruins captain Ray Bourque walked
away from the game with Lemieux's
game shirt, which he exchanged for
his own. The two will swap shirts
again after the regular-season finale
Sunday afternoon at the FleetCenter."
Pretty cool, so they get each other's
home and away sweaters.
Hope Ray got the team's permission to
go blowing money like that!

| When Bourque retires, if he doesn't somehow stay with the
organization, all of this organization's class will walk away with him
as he walks out the door. He is all that's left of the Bruins pride
that was the norm when he first skated onto the Gahden ice all those
years ago.

| Ray Bourque will be the coach of this team at some point,,
but I digress and repeat myself yet again..
(and I did't say 'will be the best coach', I simply
said COACH!)

| rumour du jour -
Kasper gets moved up to the front office and Jack Parker is named coach
of the Team. I forget the source, it's Monday and it was a loooog weekend.

why waste time writing speculation about Parker. And _sbn HOW/Why
would Kasper be moved to the front office. Do the Bruins really need
3 stooges to do the work of 1 good GM ? But I can't comment because
I'm not in the front office and am not privey to all the communication.
And after one of your "loooog weekend" we wouldn't want to guess where
you heard that rumor.

I dunno..... just heard the rumor. I was eating breakfast in a diner
in Wilmington. The guy who runs it is John Cuniffs nephew (I think) and
he dropped us this rumor from his uncle. Is it true, who knows. Would I
like to see Parker, he's certainly a better coach than Kasper. Can Parker
make the x'sition, it needs to happen first.
> Do the Bruins really need 3 stooges to do the work of 1 good GM ?
Nope - but who's that GM ??????

Good to see you're learning 8*)
