This problem is now becoming particularly urgent, so I have done a bit
more testing and can reproduce the problem here without any trouble. I
have also reaslised that the 2 problems I mention in .0 are actually
not related. So for the time being it is the tray selection that I am
most concerned with.
The customer has set up 3 keywords in their LN03 printer table to
relate to FRONT, REAR and one other. I have tested this on a DEClaser
just using 2 trays, and I see the same problem.
The keywords I have used are:-
BIN_FRONT <ESC>[1!v
BIN_REAR <ESC>[2!v
I then created a 4 page document, the first control block on the first
page reading, PRINTER TABLE BIN_REAR. On the second page the control
block read PRINTER TABLE BIN_FRONT, thus telling the printer to print
the first page on letterheaded paper and the remainder of the document
on normal paper.
The output was, that the first page printed correctly as did the second
page, but then the third and forth pages printed on what ever was the
default setting in PG. In this case it took the last 2 pages from tray
REAR instead of FRONT.
This immediately indicates that where Keywords are concerned, they only
relate to the page they appear on and not to the document as a whole.
Is this correct??
The output the customer sees is that when she prints the document as a
whole (set up exactly as I have above) it will print exactly as
expected. whereas if she tries to print say just the last page, it
prints out from whatever tray is in the default PG settings rather than
looking at the control block on page 2.
So it appears that it has nothing to do with having printable
characters before a PRINTER TABLE control block. That only appears to
be occurring where fonts are concerned and I shall raise that as a
separate issue.
So if anyone could test this out for me and confirm that they are
seeing the same problem, it would help a great deal. I would also like
some more information on exactly how KEYWORDS are controlled, as it may
help to determine whether they are behaving as they are supposed to or
not.
I really need some information as quickly as possible, so anything
piece of information would be grately received...
Thank you very much.
Emma.

Have looked at the notes you suggested Clive, but they do not appear to
be relevant. My particular query is that the control block is working
but only on the page is appears on, and not the document as a whole. So
what I want to know is, is this a specific problem to do with PRINTER
TABLE commands. In other words are PRINTER TABLE commands only supposed
to relate to that particular page or is this a bug or is the customer
doing something wrong??
