2144.0. "Upgrade from WPS+ to ALL-IN-1, but which one?" by ESOA11::ORR () Fri Jan 22 1993 23:16

    We're working with a customer who has a very old WPS+ system. Digital
    did some custom work for them a while ago and provided shared file
    cabinet functionality. It never did work right and we didn't do a very
    good job keeping it updated. They have now said they would like a
    *real* product so that they could count on updates and proper support.
    We would like to propose ALL-IN-1 to them, however, we are unsure
    if we should be proposing ALL-IN-1 IOS or ALL-IN-1 Starter. The only
    additional functionality beyond WPS+ that they *really* need is shared
    file cabinets. Is ALL-IN-1 Starter still a product we can sell and
    could it support shared file cabinets? Or should we be proposing
    ALL-IN-1 IOS? Any thoughts or suggestions?

    ALL-IN-1 STARTER is still a product though today there isn't
    a version that supports shared filing available to the paying customer

    Since we don't discuss "futures" here you'd have to ask in
    ABBOTT::A1INFO about any future versions of STARTER that may or not
    be in field test (is that vague enough) or you could call the CSC who
    would be more than willing to help answer any questions you might have
    that might help solve this dilemma.
