| ??? Logicals don't take up space ..
On a more serious note, I guess you mean you need to delete/remove the
DECW files. In the past I've used SYS$UPDATE:DECW$TAILOR to tailor off
all the DECW files, then done the installation.

3583.2 | I need to know if all files will be Replaced | COGITO::ZIKA | z | Tue Nov 06 1990 10:24 | 7 |
| Thanks, that seems to make sense.
Loss worry ==> Going from V5.3-1 to V5.4 of VMS is an
upgrade not an installation. If I tailor off all the files I may lose
information "if" only Rev'd up files are added by the upgrade. I guess
its back to the Release Notes, Installation Guide and VMS notes
conference. -- Chris

3583.3 | DECW$TAILOR doesn't know the DW3 files... | LESLIE::LESLIE | Andy Leslie | Tue Nov 06 1990 15:20 | 3 |
| You can always tailor DECWindows back on.
Caveat: not if its DECWindows V3!

3583.4 | Just do it! | TOOLEY::B_WACKER | | Thu Nov 15 1990 16:25 | 3 |
| A large part of the 5.4 upgrade is to delete all unrequired DW files,
so it does a pretty good cleanup for you since it knows that DW54 will
end up replacing them all anyway.
