1419.0. "(Wayne Hunter) CHECKING OUT" by GENRAL::HUNTER (from SUNNY Colorado, Wayne) Thu May 24 1990 19:12

    	As the old saying goes:

    At times it's been REAL.
    At times it's been FUN.
Lately, though, it HASN'T BEEN REAL FUN.

With that stated, I'll bet you know what the next is....

That's right, I'm close to becoming a GENERAL CITIZEN instead of a
DECcie. Due to circumstances, I will be taking the PACKAGE out of here
next week. During my stay here, it HAS BEEN REAL FUN swapping lies,
going fishing with, swapping experience, etc. with those that I have
met in person, across the NET, through MAIL, and other means. After 9
years, though, this job isn't fun anymore. So, it is time for me to
move on. If you're ever in the CXO area in the future, I might still
be persuaded to go fishing somewhere on short notice. I'm in the phone
book. If not, there are some fellows here in the file that have my
home info. Drop me a line or give me a call. If I can get free for a
    time, I'll go fishing.

Wayne,

I'm REEL sorry to see you go. It really has been fun fishing with you and
reading your commentaries of the Wild West. You will surely be missed.
Good luck in your future endeavors. If you ever get back east, you'll
always have a fishin' buddy to take you out.

Tight lines!

 Hey Wayne-

I caught wind of this a few weeks ago, and I hoped it wasn't so...

Best of luck to ya, and leave some fish for when we easterners can finally get
around to fishing Colorado...

I always enjoyed your responses and always look for your answers to see

Wayne,

We will all miss you in the notes file. I enjoyed fishing with you last summer
in Colorado and last fall in New Hamshire.

You always have an open invatation in my boat when you are out this way.

Good Luck,

    Cowboy:
It's not gonna be the same without you (sounds like one of your old
rodeo "groupies, don't it ?). You were our # 1 contributor and you
always helped out - a nice change from some of the occasional B.S. in
    here.
There's a "Colorado Kool Aid" with your name on it if you get back
East, and if you need anything and can have someone enter it in these
notes I'll be happy to help out.

    Wayne,

I hope life after DEC treats you as well as you have treated us in this
notes file! I have enjoyed reading your notes during the past couple
    years.

    Say it ain't so!

Well, Wayne buddy, it was a pleasure meeting you. I wish we'd had a
chance to fish together. But, as a man of leisure (the package no
doubt having made you wealthy), why don't you head this way for some
piscatorial pleasure? I saw a 50# striper mount on a wall up by Norris
Lake last night and the guy who caught it says bigger ones have come
out of the same lake. You could be the guy to top 60#. Whaddaya say?

    Wayne,

Thanks for all the excellent fishing advice and the enjoyable stories.
You were one of the few who was never at a loss for something
worthwhile to contribute (compared to some of us blowhards).

...and one of the rare few fishermen who does not brutalize the English
    language!

I only hope the conference can survive the loss!

here. Like the so many folks before me I hate to see you
leave us. I didn't get out there my first try, but if that
window opens up again...I just might be knocking on your door!

Wayne,
Good luck in the future. Being in the Semiconductor end at DEC, I've
seen many of my associates leave. You'll be glad to know that all of them tell
me that believe it or not, there is life after DEC.
You certainly are a wealth of knowledge and obviously have put in your
time fishing even though you can't use a left handed reel. Like everyone else I
hope somehow our paths cross in the future.

    Wayne,

could possibly get from any other source.

Good luck in you future endeavors.!

Who knows, maybe you will be able to start up a "public" notesfile for
the "non-DEC" fisherperson.??!! Could be lotsa money in something like
    that??!!

    Wayne,
I've enjoyed reading your contributions to this notesfile and
we'll definitely miss you in the UK.

Personally, I would like to say thanks for the tips on Pike fishing, I
definitely improved this season, and for the interesting discussions
around the differences between US and UK methods.

All the best for the future.

    Tony Frazer.

P.S. I've only just seen this note and I hope I'm not too late to say

1419.25Wayne, from SUNNY Milwaukee???DONMAC::MACINTYRETerminal AnglerTue Jun 11 1991 15:5511
Got a nice letter from Wayne last week. He's doing well. Although he
is nolonger "from SUNNY Colorado". He took a job with GE in Milwaukee.
They made him an offer he couldn't refuse which included a nice relo
package. He's going through the relo process now.

He's enjoying the Northerns and smallmouth fishing, and was planning to
head off after Lake Michigan salmon the day following his letter.

I'm going to drop him a line within the next couple of days.
