1369.0. "Farewell to my friends" by 33972::RHARRIS (NRA lifer, heart and soul!) Tue May 31 1994 15:17

I got the package this morning. I requested it, and got it. I will
not miss Digital. I will miss the people, and the notesfiles. I will
particularly miss the hunting notes conference, and all the shared
experiences, stories, tips, etc. The friendships that have evolved
thru this median have been valuable. I wish everone to have a happy,
successful life, and good hunting. Who knows what the future will
bring for me. I know that come hunting season, ya'll will be in my
mind as I take that silent stroll to my stand. Be safe, and see you
    in the woods.

    Regards,

    Snapperhead,

It has really been great shooting the bull with you. Your stories are
almost always funny, and I always enjoyed the "ribbing".

Keep in touch, if you come up this fall, I'll take you bowhunting for
some of those Hillbilly bucks. I have a bow I need to break in.

I came in today to pack my cube of personal items, of which some of
them have been some hunting pics people sent to me. This brings up a
dilemna. I have the hunting photo album. I need to send it to
someone. Pipe up now, for if no one wants it, I will give it to Red.
Red sits about 70 yds from me. It has been great talking to you guys.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Since being laid off Tuesday
morning, I have gone trout fishing twice, played 9 holes of golf, and
am scheduled to play 18 holes tommorrow morning. I will be here in the
afternoon to turn in my badge, say some final goodbyes, and party with
some of the best people I have ever worked with.

Sincerely, I will miss you all.

Red's got the photo album now. I bought my house on the other side of
town. Played golf this morning. Had a couple beers. Came in to turn
in my badge. Now it's off to the cantina to share some good times with
    old friends.

See you in the great woodlands in the sky......

    Bret,

I was thinking the same thing. I guess we all have to go on with it.

I am heading back to the motherland this weekend to do a little frog
giggin'! I haven't been in 3 or so years and am itching to give a
few a haircut with my .22 short hollowpoints. My wife even wants to
go! That's alot better than taking her to a movie.

I can't wait until bow season either!!!!!

1369.13Deer season just doen't come fast enough17576::MACGREGORlast one gone, please shut off lightsWed Jun 15 1994 11:3611
    	Wess,
I know I can't wait for bow season either. I am currently cutting and
splitting red oak just to keep my arm strength, it's not because I need
the wood to heat my house this this winter ;^). I will soon be putting
up a tree stand next to my house with a target so I can practice ;^).
Not that I need it ;^). I am getting itchy to go back into the woods. I
am still thinking of putting a tree stand on my upstairs back deck
after having an 8 pointer run by me in my back yard last December. ;^)
And I still need to reload for deer season. Too much to do and not
enough time. :^( Deer season just doesn't come fast enough. :^(

    Bret,

I just moved to Ohio and the area I moved into...well...I think I may
be the only redneck in the area. I started to get my bow out last
weekend and remembered that I left my target with my buddy back in Ky.
I am going back to Ky this weekend, so I will pick it up. I can't wait
to see how it will go over with the neighbors. I can tell you one
thing, If I had a nice buck coming in the back yard, I would pop him on
the first day of season with them watching. Then I would tell them to
    fire the grill up.

1369.15my brother is my neighbor ;^)17576::MACGREGORlast one gone, please shut off lightsWed Jun 15 1994 12:5920
    Wess,
Isn't that the state where Metzenbaum is from? They have some nice
big corn fed bucks from Ohio, so I am told anyhow. Do you have
neighbors all around you? How come you left Kentucky? The only neighbor
I see alot is my brother and he has a brand new grill ;^). He and I go
hunting alot together so there is no problem there. On the other side
of me but with about 8 acres between us is my parents house. Last Dec.
I didn't have any indoor plumbing yet (still in the middle of building
my house) so I went out back to relieve myself. Just before I stepped
outback I had thought to myself to bring my bow or my camera (there was
still 5 days of bow season left) but pressure was mounting so I
couldn't wait the xtra few minutes to grab that stuff. The rest is
history. My wife says they wait for me to get into position like that.
:^( That sucker came within 20 feet of me and didn't even know I was
there until he got downwind of me. They still come within 50 yards of
my house. I just hope they don't get to cozy and find my garden. Also
had a Moose come through in January. Speaking of Moose anyone put in
for the N.H. Moose lottery? The Drawing should be coming up. I is
    getting itchy.

1369.16only 2 days till they draw35966::GEIBELLlost in PennsylvaniaWed Jun 15 1994 14:439

The lottery drawing is friday of this week, I will have to wait till
monday night to find out if any of us get drawn. it would really be
nice to get picked. I would probably bowhunt with a 30-06 as backup, in
case I cant get the proper shot with the bow.

    Bret,

I moved for Digital, just before the stuff hit the fan....I wake up
screaming about 3 times a week.

    Neighbors....All around, I have a 1/2acre lot that's it.

It is interesting finding new places to go where you don't know anyone.
I have rounded up several places to go fishing, I plan on driving back
to Ky and hunting most of the time. A guy in the office lets me hunt
on his farm here in Ohio, but it is 80miles out. Hopefully I can round
up something within 30minutes for the 1/2 day hunts.

As far as big bucks in Ohio. They took 2 off of the guys farm that
lets me hunt about 6 years ago that were nice. The last couple of
years only young basket racks. They don't have any corn planted, but I
am trying to get them to plant some, we'll see.

I guess yesterday was one of them days I should have taken off just
for my camera's sake. My wife gets a call at 10:30AM from my Mom, we
live next door to each other with about 100 yards of red oak between
us, and tells her that a deer just crossed their front yard and is
coming to my house. It never did show, but if I was home I would have
been in camo clothes with camera in hand. Bummer, they even show up
when I am not even there ;^). I guess there is next time, but I am sick
    of saying that. :^0 .

Well I guess I may be able to get that deer in my camera frame
afterall. I was told today that I am a "high" risk and next friday will
be my last day. I will miss hunting notes and and firearms notes and
the scores of people that are associated with them as well. I will hold
my head high. Maybe 15 1/2 years is too long in one place anyways. ;^)
    Good luck to all.

And they better not cancel any hunting season on us or I will really
get mad! I have been fortunate to meet some great people here in the
time I have spent with dec (15 and 1/2 years). That is truly one thing
I will miss the most. Even though some of you I have never see
(couretsy of notesfiles) I feel as though each and everyone of you was
my brothers and sisters. Please take care all. I am leaving happy.
Besides I may already have another job lined up. That didn't take long
did it. ;^) I hope to see all of you in the woods someday. Good luck!

Well folks, the time is almost here! As of 10/3, I will no longer be
an employee of Digital. I can honestly say I won't miss Digital, only
the people. I've spent almost 11 years here. I'll difinitely miss
the hunting, fishing, and firearms files. Hope that all of you have a
succesfull season and shoot straight. Keep your head up, the wind in
your favor, move slow, let others do the "pushing", and keep your eyes
and ears open. I wish you all the best.

We're not sure but tomorrow will most likely be the last day
Quantumized employees will have access to notes. I hope all of you have a
happy and prosperous life. I wish you and Digital nothing but the
best. Keep plugging away, if the recent stock rise is any indication
the company is on the way back up. Enjoy your times in the field and
times with your families. If I manage to get lucky and score this
year, I'll give a call to one of you so you can put it in .270! Take
    care and enjoy life.
