| To be issued an anterless deer permit, you must have sent in the
appropriate application (that was attatched to your license) before
aug 15.
The numbers drawn correspond to the last number of your hunting
or sporting license.
THe numbers in the base note are in the order drawn. If you have the
last number that was drawn in each zone, (for ex: # 3 in zone 10) you
may not recieve one. Otherwise you should be receiving one.

Mr. Moderators, I realize that this is the antlerless deer permit
note but I feel it is my duty to inform evryone of the gross lies
and mistruths that Scot is spewing forth. he would love it if all
of you believed he was the great hunter that he comes across as.
I even believed it at one time, you see Scot and I converse through
E_mail daily and he would continually sign off as "The deerslayer".
Upon further investigation, and asking him point blank, "How many
deer have you slain?", he answered <mumble, mumble>, I asked again
and could clearly hear his answere this time. It was NONE! Zippo,
nada, nothing, he did claim to see many but the trees were in his
way, the earth moved, his pants were down around his ankles etc.
I feel that these excuses may in some way help me to believe that
there is hope for him yet, but he still has not attained the one
vital component to call him self the deerslayer, and that is he
has not yet slain a deer.
Not that he has'nt tried, many times I have driven the backroads
with him in his 4x4, (a.k.a the suicide machine) searching out the
lesser intelligent deer that may wander onto the road and infront
of his vehicle. My knuckles turning white in their death grip around
his neck all the while yelling at him to slow down. Him foaming
at the mouth, eyes red with the hunger to kill and this is during
the off season! You should see how he gets during deer season.
All in all Scot is a good person/sportsman, but not a deerslayer.
I appreciate you letting me put this here and telling the whole
story and please everyone, go easy on him, because in the eyes of
us who have harvested deer, he is still but a boy....

Bwana you foolish child,
It was you who signed his messages "the deerslayer"!! Mine
have been signed the DEER HUNTER. Therefore it is you who speaks
with fork tounge not I.
As for my driving like an mad man, this is also untrue! You
just felt as if we were flying down the back roads because you are
so used to putting along down the roads in your feeble little car.
So now that every one is aware of the half truths you have
been sreading I will conclude this note by explaining to you all
that we cannot really blame Walt for being this way. You see he
is getting married soon and all this garbage he is saying is just
his way of coping with the frustration he is feeling knowing that
his days of hunting fishing and purchasing the necessary items to
do so are coming to an end. In fact I offered him the chance today
to come up to Maine with me to go hunting but I could see his face
turning red and eyes buldging as the apron strings tightened around
his throat. I really do feel sorry for the poor fool. Even though
he can't hit the side of a barn with a shotgun he was a good sportsman
and I'll be sad to see him go. I hope you have a wonderful married
life Bwana. You know doing all those fun things you were doing
the other day like laundry, washing dishes, ect. ect. ect.

| Geroge,
Not sure but it's been a while. One of the reasons for the $5 is to
pay for the doe tag system. The lucky winners get to pay the expense
while the unlucky only have to spen $.25 for the stamp and env. to send
in to the drawing. Sounds fair to me. Let the winners foot the bill.
OOppsssssss, spoke to soon. On second hand we should let all who
apply pay $ for the program. You see I just found out I got a permit
for this year. Just trying to keep my expenses down. Let the winners
pay all of it next year... ;^)

I should have been smart enough to take a drive over to
Westboro instead of mailing it in. But I'll remember
that next time.
And I wouldn't complain about getting a Doe during Archery,
it would give me a better feeling getting a Doe than getting
nothing at all. But then again I hope you drop a Buck
bigger than Steve Drumm's "Pope and Young" record so we can
quiet him down a bit.
But then again if I happen to drop that BIG one it might
be hard to keep me quiet also!

799.24 | can you say "WOOOOOOOPPPPEEEEEE" | WFOV12::DRUMM | | Tue Oct 30 1990 11:12 | 16 |
| Deer Mr. Warden, I would like to inform you that you are the proud
owner af a ticket that may allow you to take TWO baldies in Ma. this
year. You see it is very simple. If you per-chance take a doe with your
bow your doe-permit is still valid. I know it sounds fishy but this is
not thew fly fishing note so it's not. The doe permit is for use in the
gun season only!!!! Do not attach to a doe killed in the bow season!!!
If you doubt me just call your friendly Warden or read the laws.
When you check in your bow deer if it is a doe they will issue you a
second licence stub. This stub clearly states if the first deer was a
doe the next must be a buck unless taken on a anterless permit during
the shotgun season.
How big is you smile now?

| Sorry, you can not take two antlerless deer in Mass. No way.
No how. If you have a doe permit for shotgun but take a doe
in bow season, _throw the doe permit away_. Sorry. The regs
clearly state 'no more than one antlerless deer per year'.

| STEVE & OTHER HUNTERS IN THIS FILE. TAKE NOTICE! The limit on does
per season is (1) One and the total limit is (2) Two. I just finished
talking to the #2 Environmental Police Officer (Major Carrciolo) and
He emphatically stated one doe per year and that of you happen to shoot
a doe during the archery season, your doe permit is no longer valid.
Steve, your local warden friend is blowing smoke for he does not know
what he's talking about. If he's an Inland Officer, his Boss the Major
would love to talk to him and straighten him out on the laws.
Just remember each Hunter is responcible for knowing the laws of the
sport limits and seasons. I'm not trying to burst Steve's bubble but
if any of you are found to have taken 2 does in Mass during the 90
calender year, the Fines are substancial and you can loose your
Hunting,Fishing and Trapping Licenses for a Year. Good Hunting!

it is not; 1 doe per year
it is; 1 antlerless deer per year!
Which means, if you shoot a button buck during the archery season,
your doe tag is now null and void for the shotgun season. It also
means that your any deer muzzleloader season is now buck only!

Well I finally got the reply from the local warden, after another
phone call by me. He has changed his story. He says he was mistaken and
you can only take one bald deer per year. That coincides with the
abstracts. I asked if he informend the check station so they know what
the law is and he said yes as they were telling hunters what he had
told them.
Oh well one is better than none.

Nope, you aren't a read only. The Bob H. I speak of resides in WFO.
He keeps leaving small nits-nats on my desk. Last week it was a copy of
an abstracts with parts of it underlined, this morning I come in and
find a news paper article on the bag limits, so on and so forth.......
As for crow pie, I don't have to eat it!! The Game Warden did that
before I got to it.
