    Bret,

I'm with you, made a huge pot of partridge stew last night for our
    lucky dinner tonight!!!

I'll be hunting the Ossippee area for the first couple of days,
and if that doesn't produce we'll move around some.

Well at least the rain will help keep the scent and noise down!

    	Erik,
I hope the stew proves to be as lucky as you say. I will be in the
Deerfield are for the first couple of days and the heading north
to Albany. Good Luck. I know I will try to get to bed early but
falling asleep may be another story.

Rain may not bother me, going to Lost River Valley area, usually about
10 degrees colder there than here, In Nashua, rain and 40 deg means
snow up there, ya hoo here I come.

I scouted an area in Fancestown on Sunday. It was getting late in the
afternoon, so I put my sunglasses in my breast pocket (biggis mistakis).
I then looked around in a low-lying area for some sign. Nothing obvious.
We moved farther up the road, and scouted some more. On the way back out,
we talked to a father and son duo who had been muzzle-loader hunting.
Then I reached for my sunglasses. Sh!T!

We went back to the first place. I tried to retrace my steps. On the way
down the hill, I found a pile of deer droppings. Talk about fresh! We had been
there maybe 1/2 hour before, and there were no droppings there. And it was a
pretty big pile (large deer? ;-) I mushed them with a stick, and they were
real soft.

Good. Now we know there are deer down there. We went into the filed area.
I knew there were two ways we'd find the sunglasses out there (no way and NFW),
so I went over to where the beavers had made some choppings that I had checked
out earlier. Bingo! My vuarnets were sitting there. Oh baby! All the clean
livin'. :-)

 Gettin' psyched for Sunday am!

I'll be hitting a farm up in Durham. Been scoutin' every weekend
for the last 1.5 months. My partner missed a 6-pointer last Saturday
with a bow when a branch jumped in the way :*).

Fresh scrapes found near a sink hole. Wind out of the SE means
head wind going in to my stand.

    Not too excited :*)

I,m ready, been hunt'n deer since 28-Oct with the thunder-stick.

Helped my brother drag out a spike last sunday, about 120lbs took him
at 7:05am from his loggy-bayou with the T/C 50cal hawkin. One nice
clean shot, took the top of the heart and wiped the lungs. The deer
    still went 60yds before falling.

Anyway in southern N.H. there seems to be lots more sign than ever,
maybe the mild winter had something to do with it.

I counted over 70 scrapes in a 1sq mile area, last weekend between the
5 of us we seen 4 deer and got 1 all at different times.

Deer runs everywhere, reminds me of VT 15years ago, I'll tell ya thou,
plenty of acorns in the hardwood, but between the 5 of us on stands
we seen nothing. Then in the afternoon about 3pm We checked out a grass
swamp, sign again everywhere, this time we jumps and sees one, we go
back sunday morning and go in the grass swamp, jumps 3 on one side of
swamp my brother takes one on the other side all between 6:15am to
    7:05am.

The thicker it is the more they like it, I know, You all know, what i
mean. Any-way check-out those grass swamps, I'll be sitting on the edge
of one in about 17hrs in good ole Fremont N.H.

    Good-Luck to Every-One!!

I'm going Elk hunting at 2:30 (5:30 EST) today and if I don't finish
this project plan by then I can't get there today. You guys aren't
    making this any easier.

And yes, I'm wasting 5 precious minutes while I eat the cold pizza that
I brought with me at 5:00 this morning.
