You didn't say as to whether you were from out of state
or not, but for a non-resident license (small game) $36.50 + $10.50
for the pheasant "stamp".
The season has already started (OCT 1) and goes til .. I think
Dec 31, but I'd have to consult my rules as they aren't here at
work..
Places to hunt?? Good question...

| Yeah,
I'd like to know where to hunt pheasant in N.H. I understand
they imported 11,000 pheasants this year. They probably bought them
from the Mass game farms because Mass doesn't have the money to
stock.

| Actually, N.H. imports it's pheasants from New York.
N.H. doesn't stock nearly as many pheasants as Mass and only stocks
three times a year. I believe they have completed their stockings
for the year. The season does stay open until the end of the year
and there will still be a few birds around, but it will take a lot
of hunting to find them.
You should contact the fish and game for a list of stocking sites.
I think they put most of the birds in state owned places, like Surry
Mountain around Peterborough, and the flood control area around
Concord. There is also a place along the Souhegan River in Milford
where they stock.
Good luck,
Mark

Pheasant hunting in N.H is never Good you would be better off saying
Fair. If your from Mass and want to chase these Great birds you
would be better off to hunt them there. If you must hunt N.H. and
want to spend the money for a non-resident lic. then stick to the
extreme southern part of the state or coastal area, there you would
probably have greater success. As far as hunting pheasant without
a dog, its going to be real tough.
Good Luck and Welcome back to the hunting scene.
