Makes me very glad I pulled the boat last weekend and wheeled her
into a storage bin.

| Ok another guess.... I think Hugo will hit S.C., however it will
have winds less than 100 MPH. Then Igo will head for New England
however will burn itself out at sea before it reaches us.

| I think I speak for all us NE boaters in saying "The sooner and further
south these 'cains make land and fall apart the better!"

| Word from the luminaries at the National Weather Service is that
all we'll get is lots (I mean *lots*) of rain saturday and sunday;
not a lot of wind (20-25 mph last I heard).

| Walt, the marine info you talk about 7'-10' seas, sounds more
like offshore to me. Last i heard was Friday night and Saturday
rain, Sunday High in the 60's Lows in the 40's.
As for HUGO,IGO and the rest of the alphabet______
ANYONE INTERESTED IN SOME REAL CHEAP PLANE TICKETS TO SAVANNAH..

518.8 | Maryland Report | GRANMA::WFIGANIAK | | Thu Sep 21 1989 14:29 | 8 |
| The last I heard wes that Hugo was to make land fall somewhere between
Savanah(sp?) and Charleston in the Carolians. Winds were down to
105 after it trashed P.R but were back up to 110. They expect it
to hit early Friday morning. We are to expect torriential (sp)
downpoors Saturday with it tappering off on Sunday. Not much has
been said as what impact Iris will have if any. With all of the
rain we have had since Monday we will be expecting some flooding.
So it looks like a football/silver bullet weekend for me.

| The latest from NOAA in Boston is for the storm to make landfall
tomorrow, then proceed NE along the coast. Could it be a repeat
of Gloria? I guess its time to break out the heavy chaffing gear.
