	Hi,
    
    	Our customer checked with us and need us to update them on
       	FDDI's ring init messages and "Bridge Strip Error",	

	1. what's the happening on the FDDI ring when the "Ring Init ...."
           messages which are always in a burst over 3-8 minutes period.

	2. what's the "Bridge Strip Error" means. This message is very rare.

Bridge strip error is similar to purge error.  It occurs when the void
frame is lost.  It will also occur if more than one of the packets sent at
a time (if more than one is sent) are lost as they go around the ring.

In any case, this is an indication of packet loss.  If it's very rare, then
that's not a cause for concern.  If it happens often (on a timescale of minutes
or less) then you should start looking for the cause of the packet loss.
Typically this would be bad connections (connections with excessive bit
errors); the LEM attributes will let you find those.
