871.0. "FDDI cable turnround?" by UBOHUB::KLASINSKI (Customer Services @UCG, 830-3251) Tue Feb 23 1993 16:28

    Is there a fibre optic turnround connector (or socket) which I can
    put on the end of a BN24B cable to prove if it works?

    I've got one that plugs into the bulkhead of the concentrator or
    the DEMFA which is great, but I need a fast way of testing the cables.

    	Regards Henry

You might use a cable joining sleeve (I don't know exactly what this is called).
This is a rectangular sleeve, similar in shape to the jack into which the
MIC plug fits, and about 2 inches long. Two connectors fit into this, one
from each end. This effectively connects them together. It's a way to couple
two patch cords together. You could also use it to connect a loopback plug to
the end of a patch cord.

These are standard items from the connector makers (such as AMP); they shouldn't
be expensive, since they are just pieces of plastic.
