I saw BOXES going for $6 at a show this weekend. Factory sets
    for $12.

If you're talking OPC "Premiere" Hockey, it's a different story.

I saw boxes going for between $30 and $40 this weekend, and they
    were plentiful. Decollation stunk tho'.

398.3is the set only top players + rookies?UNYEM::SAPPByou got the actung baby, uh-huhMon Mar 02 1992 16:0812

What are the top cards in the set this year? (I haven't seen a becketts
    for a few months).

    8 cards/pack this year instead of 7

A little more color but essentially the same as last year

I like it---> its a small set with no guerilla pack-selling tactics.

Yes, mostly top players, and LOTS of rookies. A couple of subsets
-- "the original six" (NYR, STL, CHI, MTL, BOS, ???) players pictured
in their "vintage" uniforms from this year.

A way to picture top players on two cards.

Terrible, and I mean *terrible* decollation.

Two of my friends purchased boxes of OPC Premier Hockey last week.
One got a complete set out of a box, the other was one card short of a
    complete set.

I think that's pretty godd decollation, isn't it?

    Regards,
    Denny

398.6So from my POV, their decollation stinks! 8^)CERBUS::KARLSONOnly 298 shopping days until Xmas!Mon Mar 02 1992 19:3711

    Yes, that's pretty good decollation.

*BUT*, when you're getting approximately 150% of the cards needed for
a complete set (198 cards in the set, 288 in the box), you'd fully
expect you would get one complete set -- no matter what.

The box my BIL opened fell 64 cards shy on the first set, and 90
    cards on the second set.

After reading the note I went out to buy some and see how I would do.
Background. I like OPC Premier products (Baseball + Hockey). I like
the backs, # of rooks, the small sets, and the color that doesn't seem
    to shout.
In box 1 I was 15 cards short of a set, but it was OK because I had a
lot of extra straw cards. Opened box two. Once again lots of stars
but stll short of making the first set by one card.
I did get 3 Gretzkys in each box.
I took all of the cards not in the set and divided them into
cards less than 1 dollar - cards more than one dollar. The more than
one dollar stack added up to 80 bucks in the April becketts
    high column.
Question-How will the strike affect the price of hockey cards?
Question-How will it affect the price of OPC premier?
Shouldn't the price of wax stop going up or even come down
with no Stanly Cup no ROY ect.
