    Yes, it's coming. They had them at the Wilmington show at 4 packs for
    $5. They look nice, not sure I'd pay $2/pack for them though. I was
    impressed that they pictures must be recent, because 1) They had
    players in the old-timer "Original 6" uniforms, 2) They had San Jose
    Shark players in action shots, and 3) They had players recently traded
    on their correct teams. (e.g. Messier as a Ranger comes to mind).
    There's a 6 card subset of the uniforms from the original 6, and a
    subset of ProSet Player of the month too.

    The PS PLT FB cards were down to $30/box this weekend.

    The PS HK French cards were down to $19/box this weekend.

    Do NOT buy these cards. Do NOT buy into the hyped up cries of
    rare, scarce, limited production. These cards will be out, and
    they will be out in plentitude. 10,000 cases is a lot of cards
    boys and girls. Somewhere north of 500,000 complete sets!

    Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait.

    And if you can, find someone else interested in a set, and split
    the cost of the box. You will get two complete, or two very nearly
    complete sets out of one box. You lower your cost, and you have
    some fun with a fellow collector.

    Just decide who gets the platinum cards up front! 8^)

    Only reason I got these were they were $1.25/pack. If they were $1.50
    or above I would have passed.

    Walt-

    	I noticed in your want-list, you had some "PC" cards listed.
    What are these?

    I'm not 100% sure. Looks like they have a card for each Pro Set
    Performance of the month for each month of last year's season.
    Vanbiesbrock (sp?) was for October I think and Hull for February.
    There's also a set of Platinum Sophomores I think (the cards are
    home), guys who played well last year as rookies. Not sure how
    many there are total, the highest one I have is PC10.

347.8Reasonable Price????DNEAST::WOODMAN_MIKEFri Nov 22 1991 17:324
    Can somebody tell me what a reasonable price for these are. I can get
    the wax boxes of these, for $26 which figures out to 73 cents a pack.
    I was just wondering if this is a good deal or not. I don't collect
    hockey, but it might be worth the investment.

    A friend of mine was one card short from two full sets out of a box. He
    also got 6 PC cards and alot of key doubles (in addition to the sets).
    Is everyone doing as well or did he get a great box?

    He paid $40 for it 6 days after I told him to wait.
    None so blind...................

347.12Good deal, nice cards!DNEAST::WOODMAN_MIKEMon Nov 25 1991 20:455
    Thanks guys, I picked mine up this weekend for $26 + tax at a wholesale
    depot near my house. I haven't opened the whole box yet, but out of 12
    packs, I've gotten 3 Fedrov's, 2 Hulls, 2 Gretzky's and PC1, PC3, and
    PC4. I wish they had price guides out on these so I could know how
    much these are worth.
347.13Go halves on a box.DNEAST::WOODMAN_MIKETue Nov 26 1991 20:455
    If you can get someone to split a box with you, it would be worth it.
    I made two complete sets from one box, and am only 52 cards short of a
    third. So if someone wanted a set, you might be able to make two from
    one box.

347.14PC? cards?? how many??IAMOK::MILLER_GTue Dec 03 1991 18:349
    I recently picked up a box of Platinum..and the PC cards I found were
    PC3 through PC8.

    Does anyone know how many PC cards there are?? They are not listed in
    Becketts?

    Thanks,
    Gary.

347.16PC 1-6.DNEAST::WOODMAN_MIKETue Dec 03 1991 22:393
    I found PC 1-6, and haven't seen any others. Mine are for the player
    of the month.

347.17EBBV03::MONDALTOThu Dec 05 1991 11:1512
    I bought a box last nite and I think I got all the PC cards.
    Their PC1,6,7,8,9,10,and I'm pretty sure that 2,3,4 and 5 will be out
    in series 2. So far I put 1 complete set togeather and from what I can
    see I'm not to far from completeing a second set.

    There is definetly going to be a Series II
    I don't want to say what I paid for them,I just had to buy them after
    I saw what they looked like,the dealer threw the bait and reeled me in.

    And my BIL got 2, 4, and 5. Face it, they're ALL out there. At
    a rate of about 5/box. Since 2 sets come out of every box, and
    theoretically it'll take 2 boxes (ie. 4 total sets, possibly 5
    normal sets) to complete one PC subset ...

    I went to a card show yesterday and saw the Platinum Hockey going for
    $28.99 per box,if I only waited a few day I could of saved $19.00.
    I also picked up,

    PC2 Pete Peters *  PC3 Tom Barraso  *  PC4 Wayne Gretzky *  PC5 Brett Hull

    I paid $20.00 for all 4,and the only reason why I did it was to
    complete my set,I'd like to know if this was a fair deal or did I
    get ripped off.

    I also bought 3 (Upperdeck) Holograms from the same person,they are,

    AW1 Wayne Gretzky AW2 Ed Belfour AW3 Brett Hull

347.21More on Pro Plantinum and PC Cards from setCARTUN::PAVLOCKThu Dec 19 1991 14:0711
    My son purchases the Pro Set Platinum for 34.95 and got almost 3 sets
    from the the box with 7 PC cards. He was one card short in the second
    set and 32 cards short in the 3rd set. I just bought him the 3 PC
    cards he was missing (#'s 2, 3 and 4) for $6 from SMK in Stow, Mass.
    They had all 10 PC cards last Friday when I was there. Prices ranged
    from $2 to $5 per card. The person would "deal" as well.

    The quality of these cards are really great, don't you think!!!

    Regards,
     Denny

    Must have waited too long! I also picked up a box of series II at
    BJ's.

    But I've been to four shows and 6 dealers at the only dealer I could find
    a box of series, I paid $40.

    Both boxes remain unopened due to lack of time, but as soon as I get to
    them maby I can fill some remaining wwant lists.
