112.0. "Marine Corps Association" by LEDDEV::SANTOS () Fri Aug 03 1990 23:05
The Law Enforcement/Marine Corps Association is open to all active duty
Marines, former Marines and anyone who supported their operations and were
honorably discharged. This association was started several years ago by
Police Officers though membership is not restricted to just Police Officers.
In fact, the membership also consists of Judges, Lawyers, Corrections
Officers, Agents from the FBI and DEA as well as Firefighters and others.
The membership now boasts over 125 people including former Commandant of the
Marine Corps, General P.X. Kelly.
Last year we celebrated the Birthday with a Dinner Dance at the Maynard, Ma,
Elks. There were over 200 people in attendance with invited guests including
National Guard General Charles Perenick, Navy Captain Richard O'Brien, Air
Force Major Chris Hitchcock, Marine Lt.Col. Robert Beaudoin and Guest of Honor
Judge Robert Barton (former marine).
This year we've had a golf tournament, are planning a family cookout, and, of
course, the Birthday Celebration. We meet on the third Tuesday of every month
at the Maynard Elks, Rt. 62 in Maynard at 7 P.M. A quarterly NEWSLETTER is
also published.
Those interested in joining may send me mail (LEDDEV::SANTOS) and provide me
with your mailstop. I'll send you an application.
...and yes, I still have tickets available for the annual cookout. (see
