but maybe you've already checked them out.....

100.2 | 157th Bde | MPGS::MCCLURE | Why Me??? | Tue Apr 24 1990 17:24 | 6 |
| If they haven't moved, I believe that the 157th Inf Bde (Sep)
(Mech) is based in the Pa area. They are USAR. The only ref-
I have, says that the 68th Armored is HQd at Ft Indiantown
Gap. This is an old ref and may have changed.

100.3 | Try 78th DIV (TNG) | CHIRPA::DENNING | | Tue Apr 24 1990 21:50 | 13 |
| I suggest that anyone in the rank Specialist to Sergeant First
Class/Platoon Sergeant contact the 78th Division (TNG) Headquarted at
Ft. Dix, New Jersey. There are many units in that area authorized
CMF 11 slots. Once joining the unit they must attend the Drill Sergeant
School and get the "X" qualifier if they don't possess it now.
There is also the 4074th Reception Battalion in Philidelpha. They are
some MOS immaterial slots.
There is also a special re-enlistment bonus for CMF 11 Drill Sergeants.

100.4 | thanks | KYOA::SCHWARTZR | | Thu Apr 26 1990 23:45 | 22 |
| ref all replies, thanks for your time and interest.
@ the 78 MTC at Dix, I've been informed that they are
being consoladated with the 76th and currently are in
a "holding" position until the final changes are made.
(same story as the NJARNG, except I would enlist my
grandmother if she was alive)
@ the FIG unit, that's a little too far for my enlisted
troops to travel (> 2 hours one-way ?), but thanks.
@ the 4074th, ??? I'll check into that.
Oh yes, about that comment about my grandmother. In her
day she was probably in better shape than some of my 18
year old troops. She painted her own house every 2 years and walked
2 miles to church every day until she turned 82. At 83 she got hit
by a car, stopped painting the house, and only walked to church on
Fridays, (she had a ride on Sundays). But she still cut her own
lawn (push not power mower).

100.5 | contact HQ 78th not 78th MTC | CHIRPA::DENNING | | Wed May 02 1990 01:56 | 13 |
| I recommend that you contact the Office of Retention at 78th Division
not the MTC. The MTC is the Maneuver Training Command (aka the
pasture).
I guarentee that all line units, the ones authorized Drill Sergeants,
will take 11Bs. They are crazy not to. All qualified Drill Sergeants
will still have jobs even after the merge. I have be assured of this by
many people in high places.
I will try and get you a list of available 11B slots in the area from
the SMO computer.

100.6 | These units have openings | CHIRPA::DENNING | | Thu May 03 1990 18:26 | 20 |
| The following units are all authorized 11B3X slots with vacancies.
I am sure they won't turn down 11B qualified Specialists thru Sergeants
First Class if are willing to attend Drill Sergeant School.
