70.0. "another squid" by WFOVX5::MARTIN () Mon Feb 05 1990 23:09

I just found this conference and let me add to it.

I am currently a Quality Engineer in Westfield, Ma.

    I join the U.S. Navy in 1967
Attended ET school and finished the active part of my
      Navy career in 1971.

I was a submariner [squid for the target navy type], and
    served on the following submarines:
USS Sablefish (SS-303) out of New London, Conn
USS Sea Leopard (SS-483) out of Norfolk, Virginia
USS Trepang (SSN-674) out of New London, Conn
I got out as an ET2(SS).

I have been affiliated with the Navy reserves since 1976
and am currently assign to SIMA NORVA 2401 out of Nwport, RI.

I expect that this unit will soon be redesignated SIMA NEWPORT DET
    101. (SIMA - Ships Intermediate Maintenance Activity)

I am currently an ET 1.

    Regards,
    Brett Martin

    Welcome aboard, Brett.

Do you happen to know either an ET1 Greg Bragdon or an ETC Steve
Singlar? I think they both drill at SIMA Newport (Chief Singlar
was in my old unit in Manchester and Greg and I used to commute
    together to GTE Westboro).

BTW, my IRR mob. site is SIMA Newport (lucky me).

Welcome aboard, Brett. Looks like we have a couple of things in
common - I spent eight years in the WFO Quality world, also my son is
now on the USS Trepang. It sits at the PNSY undergoing major refurb.

    Enjoy
