Bad, bad news. Paul's no longer makes donuts. They made the 'Yankee Magazine' as one of the best coffee and donut shops. It had something to do with insurance and the fryers. I am going to miss their chocolate covereds. And the Bear Paws. garrett

Yow. This is a major blow. I suspect that competition from Dunkin Donuts contributed to this decision. Donutland and the like couldn't have threatened Paul's much, but the almost-comparable quality and superior convenience of DD's probably clobbered Paul's doughnut business. We used to buy Paul's doughnuts on Saturday morning, and they'd still be fairly fresh and tasty on Monday, if any lasted that long. DD's turn into rocks within a few hours of purchase. At least Paul's cookies still seem to be going strong. | |||||

They said it was 100% because of insurance. People live upstairs and the fryers are a major concern. They were the best. They'll be doing muffins in the morning (and more bread). garrett |
